Controller turns console on then turns off

I'm having the same/similar issue as yours (if I read correctly).

If I turn on my Xbox One by using the controller (turning on the controller also turns on the console) as soon as the console comes up the controller's light starts flashing slowly as if it lost connection to the console.

Re-pairing in this case DOESN'T work, both start flashing fast until timeout (usually console timesout first).

Turning the controller on and off does nothing.

Tried connecting to PC using Bluetooth and pair with Xbox afterwards but again no vail, flashing until timeout.

Only thing I haven't tried properly is connecting with USB to console and see what it will do (tried once long ago but inconsistently so no conclusion).

Only way out that I've noted is to restart the console.

Workaround: don't turn the controller on before the console.

I am having this issue, both of my wireless controllers are turning off as soon as I turn them on. Anyone fix this yet?

Yep power's up fine then turns off

Thought: are the batteries or charge pack inserted properly, (just had this issue when changing batteries on a pad, but it was resolved when checking to see if they were inserted properly).

Doesn't work for me, my controllers literally do nothing apart from turn on then off, even if I press the pair button it flashes but nothing happens then it just turns off.
