    Controller trigger vibration problems.


    I have an Xbox Elite controller, I believe its a later series 1 model. I use the controller on PC.

    I noticed while playing games with it the trigger vibration seemed a bit off.

    I went to the Xbox Accessories app and went to the "Vibration" function. I came to find that all vibrations seemed to work fine other than the right trigger.

    The right trigger seemed to vibrate fine when not pressed at all. If trigger is pressed slightly there is still vibration. At around just over the slight press point, till around the mid-press point of the trigger, the vibration seems to stop working completely. Once over this threshold the trigger seems to vibrate fine again. Upon releasing trigger slowly, trigger stops vibrating again at the mid point, becomes fine again towards full release of trigger and completely fine at full release.

    Using the left trigger as a reference, the right definitely behaves differently from the left. The left vibrates at every point of the trigger compression, where as the right is as explained above.

    Anyone know any reason as to why this could have suddenly happened? Vibrating motor in the trigger faulty? possible foreign object lodged, i.e dust/grime? calibration issue?

    Any information or knowledge on this problem would be appreciated. The controller is around 2 years old so is not new at all.

    yes, vibration is turned on. the whole controller vibrates, just not the trigger.

    Based on your description, the right trigger is the one having issue. Basically, we can try to do simple troubleshooting or recalibration for this. However, if we found out that the controller is faulty then repair could be the best option for this. We would like to ask few questions to better isolate your issue:

    May we know when did this issue happen? Was there a recent OS update on your controller?

    Is this working fine before?

    Did you normally connect your wire or do you use the controller wirelessly?

    May we know if you have tried to perform this - Change controller vibration on Xbox One and Windows 10?

    Turns out it's in other games aswell. The Vibration Setting for the triggers of the Elite controller does not work properly. When I close and exit the Accessories App or even when I uninstall and reinstall the Accessories App alltogether. When the App reads
    the current setup from the controller. It says trigger vibration is at 100%. Even though just before this I loaded a configuration into the controller with trigger vibration set to 0 or 20.

    Sometimes it takes a few views at the trigger vibration setting to see that it still really is set to maximum. At first they show the setting correctly. But without changing anything, just going back one menu and then back into the vibration settings. And
    they magically changed back to 100%.

    In games the triggers just vibrate at 100%. Regardless of anything I upload to the controller.

    I can feel there are some vibrate in my controller but most vibration are only on the trigger, IDK is this the hardware problem or not.
