    Recently I've noticed a problem with my Xbox one controller's left thumbstick, where if left alone for a second or two, the Xbox console seems to think that I am pushing it up. I don't believe it physically moves up, but just that the Xbox thins it is. This
    makes it difficult to play games (especially Killer Instinct) and makes navigating apps, menus and the system itself incredibly annoying. I've heard that I might be able to send it to Microsoft for repair, but I have the Day One edition controller and don't
    want to get it replaced with a standard one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Controller Issues.

    My controller is not working correctly. After a few seconds the character on the screen start moving by himself forwards. Or in the menu screen start going up in the selections. No movement in the left thumbstick and still the character is moving.

    Xbox one controller right thumstick broke

    dropped my controller on the ground and it ended up breaking my right thumb stick. The thumbstick does not allow me to look to the left. Plastic is moving in my controller where the thumstick is. What should I do? If I bought a xbox one can I just bring
    in the controller and get a replacement?

    The stick is probably not centred properly.

    This was an extremely common problem with the 360 controllers. Every single non-white 360 controller I have owned does this.

    Unfortunately if they are not centred properly they will need replacing.

    If you haven't done so already you could try updating the controller firmware to see if that helps.

    You can update the firmware by connecting a USB cable to the controller then going into the settings app then going to devices and find the option to update the controllers firmware

  5. My controller was already updated, and I just tried to re-update it, but the problem still occurs. And I don't really want to replace my controller, because it's a Day One Edition, unless I could replace it for another Day One Edition controller. Do you
    know if I could replace it for a Day One Edition controller?

    Had the exact problem with my Right thumbstick. (quite a common problem it seems with Day ones) I have a Day one as well. Sent it off after an HOUR! of fannying about on the chat to someone with very little English. Sent it off on Wednesday of last week
    so the 15th. It arrived ready for them to fix the problem 9am Friday morning. Come Monday afternoon I come home from work to find they've dispatched a replacement controller. Which I know to be a Day One as the person in the chat said so, pleased you should
    be as it has been such a quick process. Nope. I am still waiting for it. Its Friday the 24th, it shall not be here until Monday the earliest now as everyone seems incapable of delivering on a Saturday except the Royal Mail. I have to admit when they said allow
    28 days I thought that was there legal team. No it seems not, MS are just poor at sending stuff off and getting it delivered it seems. The whole experience with this has been appalling and as for buying another controller, definitely not giving them £35+ because
    of their incompetence. Had no problems with my 360 controllers all 4 of them. But the XO controllers cant last a year by the looks of it. I suggest you do get it fixed but, be prepared to not be able to play for a month unless you have a second.

  7. Same problem for me with the Right Thumbstick, and it's a Day One controller. I tried to contact their online support chat and they just kept disconnecting me mid-way through talking to me, and since my only controller is pretty much non-functional now this
    entire things has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I kept my original 360 controller all through the console's lifespan, and now this one dies in a year.

    If someone could please let me know what I am supposed to do in this situation I would appreciate that.

    Same issue here with my left analog stick. Games aren't playable anymore, my warranty is up and I can't afford a new controller. It seems like a recalibration would fix the problem, rather than getting it replaced.

    I am extremely disappointed with Microsoft and the Xbox brand.

    We are having the same issues with 2 controllers, and we are out of warranty. I called Xbox support who advised me there is nothing they can do outside of warranty. These controllers are complete junk, they should be recalled. We HARDLY play this system,
    and both of your controllers have thumbstick issues. How can Microsoft turn me away after I explained I've been loyal to their brand and that there are hundreds of consumers having the same issue. It's irrelevant if my controllers are within the 6 month warranty
    time as the controllers break down after say x amount of hours...we rarely play Xbox One.

    I just wanted to rant, I'm never supporting Xbox again. I've been paying Xbox Live monthly for over 10 years, how much money have I invested? Now I need to go buy 2 more controllers for $120 CAD and surely they will breakdown in a year from now.

    Not a happy customer at all....this is after just purchasing Halo MCC and spending probably 20 hours looking at the lobby I've probably played only 20 games. Complete disaster of a console and 1st party exclusive games. I will not be supporting this brand
    anymore and will cancel my Xbox Live.
