Controller Synchronization Issues

I am currently attempting to diagnose an issue with my Xbox and controller synchronization. Ever since the November update, and possibly before, I have been noticing that sometimes in the middle of play, I'll get a note saying to reconnect my controller,
look down and see that the controller is indeed blinking like it lost its synchronization.I have multiple controllers and this can happen to any and all of them. Most times it will connect right up and continue to play with minimal further issues.

However, there is a more serious issue where the controller will loose synch and not come back. In this instance, I will have to restart the entire console before I can get wireless control again. I can, however, plug a USB into the front of the controller
and use it. If one controller looses synch completely (cue forever blinking light), no other controller will be able to connect, despite attempts to use the wireless connect button.

Most times, the controller will come back with no problem. usually only occurs every once and a while during an "Instant-on" power up. however, it does rarely happen during game play.

I believe this to be a hardware issue, but would like to know if anyone else has had this issue, and what they did to fix it.

synchronization issues

Ive got jigsaw app on 2 separate devices, my surface pro 4 and an all in one pc. For several months now I can't get my devices to synchronize. My other apps ie solitaire mahjong synchronize without any problems, this is just happening with the jigsaw app.
I also have issues with the monthly challenges with the app crashing. This is getting me down. Why is this happening?

I am using Microsoft controllers (generation 2, with the 3.5mm jack and data pad input), but I am not using the charge and play kit. I am using the energizer recharge kit for xbox 1 (not the one that blew up). This issue occurs at any charge level. I do
have some controllers that use only replaceable batteries, so I will try them out as well. However, there are no other devices around the xbox that would interfere with the signal, and I am sitting between 6-8 ft from the xbox. I do have a hard drive connected
via USB, but I wouldn't expect it to interrupt the signal..

Other than that, I have tried all other TS steps and the problem persists. I have noticed several other threads that indicate replacing the WiFi board did fix their situation. but I wanted to know if anyone on here had any other ideas.

So I played some last night (Mass Effect) with a controller that had fresh batteries and the synchronization issue came up again. In this instance, it was a quick disconnect/reconnect about an hour into gameplay. At this point, I am pretty certain it is
a hardware issue with the Xbox, but please let me know if anyone else has any other ideas.

Oh, this is also after I updated the Xbox system (no further updates for the controllers).
