Controller Sync Work-around

I'll keep it short. I haven't been able to search effectively on these forums (not very well-organized). I have recently been experiencing a flurry of issues with Microsoft. These issues range from general console problems (hardware) to Microsoft-backed
games (to which they provide no service, but "manage servers".

I am here for a console problem hat has proved increasingly annoying. As the title states, I have been having issues sync'ing my controller. I've read step-by-step guides, watched videos, and used common sense; none of these options yielded positive results.
I was left to "give up" and hope I could find something or I would have to send my Xbox in for the dreaded indefinite service call.

Then something happened.

I turned OFF my Xbox One with the controller still flashing to try and turn
ON. Then the controller automatically wirelessly found the Xbox One, turned it back on, and it was sync'ed. I have literally never experienced something so technologically "dumb".

My point is that Xbox really needs to get it together if they want to compete with a vastly superior console in Playstation. I used to be so die-hard Microsoft and only slightly in favor of Sony. I am now 100% Sony after having to deal with all of the
issues I have encountered.

I'm mainly pissed because this console is essentially brand new and not functioning properly. The controller I bought with the Xbox also has problems after almost no usage. I have owned the console for about 3 months and played almost zero games until
Gears 4 just came out, but the D-Pad doesn't function remotely (get it?) as well as the Playstation D-Pad. It honestly hinders my gaming ability, and leaves me feeling like the only way to get a good controller is to buy another
brand or shell out the extra $100 bucks for an Elite Controller--which is dumb on another level because I shouldn't be delivered a sub-optimal controller JUST to have to buy a better one.

I'd be surprised if anyone at Microsoft every read this and did something about it because the last experience I had left me doing most of the work so they could move on to an easier problem.

TL;DR

If you can't sync your controller by using every other method, you can try (1) turning the Xbox on, (2) turning controller on, (3) press the sync button on the console, (4) press the sync button on the controller, (5) turn off the Xbox while leaving the
controller in "sync mode", (6) Xbox should oddly turn itself on and automatically sync with your controller.

No sync lights at all

I have an Xbox 360 S that's only a few months old and it won't turn on any green sync lights around the power button. I'm trying to sync a controller but when I press the sync button there's no sign at all of anything happening and the controller doesn't
sync.

 

Xbox 360 wont turn off, as well as a "phantom" controller continuously appearing

Did you check your guitar controller ? Did anyone else sync a controller to your console and leave it laying around somewhere maybe?
