Controller Support?

Hey, there I just wanted to find out from you guys if there was any update coming anytime soon to deal with the gamepad support? Ever since the launch of game pass for PC this has been an issue. (Which you keep locking the post of without resolution only
saying "Updates, games and everything changes often so would be best to create a new thread."). I know it’s a Beta but it’s also a paid beta and I’ve seen this post several times the majority of gamepads are not
supported. Some games like Slay the spire see the controller and even take input but the button maps are completely wrong. I have posted that along with a screen capture of what the remap looks like in Feedback Hub. (Still no reply)

So now I get to my frustration because the earliest post of this issue was June 18th 9 days after the launch of Gamepass for PC. Yet here we are 2020 and it's still not fixed. The inaction on this issue leads me to believe; and I understand I didn’t see
this explicitly but I am led to believe the current stance is "why not just buy an Xbox controller?". That said I’d like to refer to my previous point that this is a paid beta if I wanted to pay for more than the service e.g. for the peripherals to go with
an Xbox game I would’ve purchased an Xbox outright but you guys offered the service on PC so I assumed what I have on PC I should be able to use.

So any tangible and
concrete update would be appreciated or any fix that you may know of. I’m posting a picture of the current gamepad I’m using and how it is seen by Windows 10. It works completely fine with Steam across both PlayStation and Xbox ported games with minor
adjustments to whether the game sees it as a PS controller or Xbox. (That could be a possible Solution)

I'm sorry that didn't work.

The files in the Windows Apps folders are encrypted, so you can't chage or add files to them.

The only option is an Xinput controller. This can be a Xbox One or 360 controller. Doesn't need to be official, a third party one should work fine.

The controllers do have a 90 day warranty on them so if you bought one within the last 90 days if may be eligible for service or repair. You can sign in and check here:

Other than that I’m unaware of a way to fix the drift on the controller once it starts. I have also had to replace a couple of my own controllers because of the drift so I understand how you feel.

Your controller doesn't support Xinput, which is why it's not working in Windows 10 and XGP games.

Steam gets around this via emulation in it's own launcher software.

To get around this with Windows 10 games you could try an Xbox controller emulator like x360ce

That's quite an idea but for x360ce to work it needs to be pasted into the same directory as the game exe and of course, it is locked with permission that supersedes the Admin and full control of the folder. I tried this initially but for giggles, I tried
again. Still locked.
