Controller Stuck Looking Up

Hello and thanks to all who try to help. I am having an issue with the white Xbox One controller. The right joystick module broke from the gray part that connects inside the thumbstick. It still worked but the joystick was now loose and rotated 360 degrees.
I decided to replace the module with a brand new one by de-soldering and soldering on the new one. I am absolutely positive that I soldered it on the right way. As soon as I turned the controller on, the player points straight up (Black Ops). You can do everything
but pointing up, so shooting, knifing, etc. . . I connected the controller to my laptop and ran the "joy.cpl" to do some testing/calibration. Something is definitely wrong with the right joystick because the "Y Rotation" is not functioning at all in the test
or the calibration. Its just moving a little by itself. Thanks.

Right joystick

The right joystick on my xbox one controller is able to move around normally, however the character is constantly looking up; as if the joystick was stuck pointing up with no response when i move it around.

Can't get past controller prompt on boot

Boot up fine green screen fine then stuck at prompt to hit Xenon on the controller button. Checked batteries in controller, rebooted etc. Defective controller?

Sounds like you have done some pretty extensive work on the controller. Unfortunately there would not be a way to troubleshoot the stick drift issue that you are experiencing. You will need to purchase a new controller as it would
now be out of warranty.

Thanks, was reading your comment with control in hand, looked at my controller and boom, rb was stuck, popoed it out and everything works again. Thanks

Hello!

Are you able to scroll up? I would check to make sure nothing seems stuck physically on the controller. If everything looks good I usually suggest, if possible, trying to plug in via USB or connecting it to a different console just to verify that it is the
controller itself. If it is the controller, replacing it is usually the only option. If you've had the controller less than 90 days it would still be under warranty. Otherwise most likely you would be looking at buying a new controller.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this problem again.

Well, the thing that we most commonly suggest to do would be to follow the steps outlined in
Troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless
controller.
The ending step of which does suggest that you get your controller repaired.

I have also heard though that some of our customers have had this problem resolved by getting a cotton swab, dabbing it in a little bit of alcohol and cleaning the base of the analog stick that is giving you problems.
It could help as sometimes dirt can get in there and cause issues.

I recommend giving that a shot if/when you get a chance and let us know how that worked out for you.

Controllers have a limited 90 day warranty so you will probably have to get a new one unfortunately.
