Controller stick squeaks in multiple controllers

I bought an xbox 360 wired controller for pc. After few minutes the left stick started squeaking. I complained. I got a new controller. The new controllers left stick started squeaking after few minutes. My husband has a controller that doesn't have squeaking
sticks. Instead the LT and RT squeak. Is the quality of your controllers always this bad?

Headset Adapter didn't fit = Broken Port on the Controller

Looks like there are quality control issues with the adapter and controllers. If the adapter fits in one controller but not another, the controller could be at fault. Equally, if the adapter doesn't fit in multiple controllers, it's likely to be a controller
issue. TBH my second controller feels slightly misaligned, like it's flexing, and it squeaks like a boss. Very annoying.

 

Controllers are garbage!

So sick of these low quality, China made garbage controllers that breakdown in a couple of months. Microsoft step up your game and quit using crap parts for your controllers!! Hope you get the controller right on the next console, the 360 controllers suffer
the same issues as your original Xbox controllers. The first replacement controller I bought had bum buttons, my new one squeaks and the sticks don't respond well. Fix it or your gonna lose business come next launch of the new system!!

This is definitely not normal for sure. Are these controllers Official Microsoft brand wired controllers or from a 3rd party? Does the noise go away after using the controller for a little while?

 

Both controllers are official Microsoft controllers. The noise doesn't go away after using the controller for a long time. Sorry for the late reply, I have sort of given up and am learning to live with the noise though it is very annoying.

Depending on your region, your controller may still be under warranty. If it's still under warranty, you can set-up a repair over on our
service website. A squeaking noise from your controller definitely sounds like a mechanical issue, which we're unable to troubleshoot through the forums.

When I replaced my 360S and a 360E, the controller that came with it squeaked for quite a while. It seemed to stop once I "broke it in". I don't have any problems with it at all now.

Does the squeak hinder performance or is it just a nuisance?
