    Controller stays on after XBOX has turned off.


    I just noticed this week that when my XBOX goes into standby mode my controller light stays on. I'm not having any issues with the controller when playing so I don't think there is anything wrong with the controller itself. Has anyone else seen this issue?

    xbox one issues

    So I go to play Call of duty black ops 3 with my roommate. Simply, I open the app and the screen goes gray (sort of like an old timely television screen). I hear the sound of children laughing and echoing. I face-time call my roommate and the Xbox console
    suddenly turns off for about five minutes, but the controller stays on. Obviously I was startled so I went upstairs for about ten minutes. We go back down and the Xbox itself has turned back on and the controller has turned off. No one is signed in (although
    I have auto sign in turned on). The Xbox was weird for a while and the controller wouldn't connect. I unplugged it and plugged back in and all good, like nothing happened. Has this EVER happened to anyone or are we literally crazy?

    this happened to me once the other, i just pressed and held the home button until it shut off, hasn't happened since.

    @Zero, that's what I did last night. Previously I just removed the batteries. I'll see if this fixes the issue. I guess I could try and do a cold boot also. BTW, did the XBOX get a system update last week? I noticed my Astro mix amp came on by itself and
    about the only time I see that is when the XBOX has had an update.

    Have you checked to see if your controller needs a firmware update? Older controllers (eg without 3.5mm headset jack) may need to be connected via USB cable to update the firmware.

    Try removing the batteries, wait for a while and insert them back again. Test it out next time when you turn off your Xbox.
