    Controller shuts off and audio cuts out


    I need help fixing my controller, I’m not sure why but it constantly does this thing where the audio gets super choppy where I can’t hear my party, audio, and my friends can’t hear me because of me cutting out, eventually in games when this is happening I start to lose control of the character and then followed by my controller shutting off and sometimes just won’t reconnect to my Xbox resulting in me having to restart my xbox just to get it to connect back to my xbox but the audio cut outs still happen.

    I’ve tried buying a new controller, buying a new headset, buying new batteries, deep cleaning my controller, factory resetting the Xbox, updating my Xbox and controller, restarting my WiFi. Literally everything.

    3. If not, please select the country/region it is showing and select the correct one among the lists.
    4. Make sure to use to check the available contact times of the support.

    6. Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.

    Hello Krylo42_,

    We tried to check Skullcandy Earbuds for the compatibility which we found - Skullcandy Dime earbuds. The manufacturer mentioned on the support site that the Skullcandy Dime earbuds is not compatible for Xbox One.

    However, we found one that is compatible for Xbox One - Crusher 360 Wireless. May we know what other headset did you try to use and replicate the same issue to persist?

    May we know if you can try to play with your controller only and see if your will get the same performance issue.

    For your game's audio, try to use the speaker of your TV and see if issue persist.

    I’m not sure if it’s a controller issue because I’ve switched out 3 different controllers, 2 for the Xbox one and I recently bought a Xbox series x/s controller and I’m having the same issue, and I’ve been using the same brand of earbuds for 3 years ever since I got my Xbox and I’ve had no disconnecting issues or audio issues until recent months just out of no where. And when I use the tv speaker instead the audio is completely fine and I’m able to hear however the controller will still disconnect or shut off.

    I had the exact same issue when I had an Xbox One.

    The audio would start to break up, then the controller would disconnect, and if it reconnected, I would have no sound until I turned the controller off and back on again. Sometimes it wouldn't reconnect and I'd have to reboot the console.

    I tried all of the troubleshooting steps I could think of, aside from replacing the console's Wi-Fi card, which also handles wireless controller connections, but nothing worked. When I upgraded to an Xbox One X, the issue went away, even though it was set up in the exact same spot and I was using the same controllers.

    So, yeah, my guess is that it's a Wi-Fi card issue.

    I’ve used the same earbuds for 3 years and never had an issue until March of this year randomly and when my audio and controller cuts out I usually just unplug the headset and listen to audio through my tv however my controller will still shut off or disconnect
