Controller scrolling on Xbox box one.

I've been having this issue with my controller scrolling. It's not uncommon, I figured the controller was the issue so I decided to connect a different (more expensive) controller to use but the problem persists on that controller too. We got the xbox one
and controller second hand from an owner who wasn't too kind to it.

I have a second xbox (my own) that the nice controller is normally connected with and it has zero issues. I'm not sure what could be causing this. I have recently taken it apart and cleaned it, I'm hoping I didn't mess something up while doing so.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could be pretty discouraging. I say that if it's happening with both controllers, it might be a dashboard glitch. I suggest performing a

power cycle of the console

. If the issue continued afterwards. I suggest performing a factory reset by following the

steps outlined here (USB flash drive> Step 2: On your Console)

When you get the chance, give those things a shot and let us know if that helped.

It makes the selection animation (the box "clicks") but it never access the app. Seems like something disconnected internally/got stuck on internally, leaving different buttons to act as if they are depressed, without being depressed. This is shown when
entering the xbox one guide, which when opened with the controller scrolls endlessly up or down based on whichever way I push the analog stick. If I open the guide with voice via kinect it does not scroll incorrectly like this, only when the control is activated

I am assuming the Live TV functionality is still working, just not the voice commands? If that's the case, I recommend checking our

OneGuide Troubleshooting page for steps to start out with. In addition to that page, give these steps a shot as well to make sure the proper remote codes are entered:

From the Xbox One Dashboard, scroll to the left to open up the Xbox One Guide.
Within the Guide, scroll down and select 'All settings'.
Within the settings screen, scroll down to 'TV & OneGuide' and select 'Device control'.
Select 'Cable or satellite box'.
Select 'Cable or satellite box setup' and run through those steps.

You may need to manually enter the remote codes. For the device you provided, try the remote code '1877'.
