  1. Controller refusing to connect wireless or wired

I got an Xbox One just a few days ago, the wireless controller worked fine for 2-3 hours, then all of a sudden stopped working completely.

I went out and bought a play & charge kit to try it wired, but it will only work for a few seconds at a time.

I've tried syncing the normal way (top of controller & side of console), tried power cycling, got rid of all possible interfering devices (phone, modem, etc.), tried updating the controller in the settings, but it will fail at 0% every time.

Was wondering if there's any other options besides sending it in and getting a new one.

    :)

    Connecting a xbox360 controller to a pc thru xbox360

No that is not possible to connect a controller to your PC through your console. You will need the Xbox 360 wireless USB receiver for windows or buy a pure wired USB xbox 360 controller (microsoft and 3rd party ones available and all will work).

The play and charge USB cable for xbox 360 controllers does not make a wireless controller wired as it only transfers power and not data.

You could buy an xbox one wireless controller that is newer and has bluetooth and connect it to your PC directly as seen on this page: :

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

You can also use an xbox one wireless controller of any type (with or without bluetooth) with a Micro USB cable on a PC as well. THAT wire does make the xbox one wireless controller act as a wired controller while connected via Micro USB.

Controller refusing to connect wireless or wired

I've got the same issue. My controller worked fine on Christmas day, but on Friday it was disconnected from the console and wouldn't connect again. I *am* able to use USB to connect the controller and I updated the controller firmware, but still could
    not re-connect the controller wirelessly.

I'm waiting until Monday when I can borrow a friend's controller to see if I can get a second controller connected. Similarly, my friend is going to try and connect my controller to his console to see where we can narrow down the issue.

I've done the same steps you have -- console reset, turned off wireless APs, etc. but it hasn't helped.

Hopefully it's just a faulty controller I have, but based on all of the threads here and on other sites, it seems like something with the console and/or the system software.

Is the headset wired or wireless? If the headset is wired, it could be an issue with the cable connecting the headset to the controller.
