controller range question

ok I have my xbox set up in the basement. literally right below me in the living room not 6 feet away. I have my hdmi split to give me signal in the living room and in my basement room. the signal on the controller keeps disconnecting, witch I would think
even going through the floor would be more than close enough to reach, but none the less it doesn't. my question, if I get a long (25') usb cord to run through the vent up stairs and just pluged the controller in would it act as a wired controller? or would
I be wasting my time because nothing would happen? open to answers if anyone knows or suggestions if anyone has a better idea. thanks in advance for any help.

Controller Range - Extend range of the controller

I have had my xbox one replaced due to constant disconnects. The replacement is better when playing alone but as soon as there is a second player/controller it disconnects every 30secs to a minute. My console is in an closet about 10m from the TV and I
sit in between the two. Never had these problems with my 360 or PS3. I think I may return it and go PS4 as this is a joke.

MS needs to wake up and address the problem rather than pretending it's not there. Surely it can't be difficult to make a USB connected range extender or something?

I have the same problem. I have my xbox one in the living room but I have a long hdmi extention from the living room to my room TV whenever I want to play games in my room. I mainly play COD in there but whenever I plug in the mic it cuts off (remote and
mic) disconnects and my character goes crazy. I can not play with the mic connected because it will turn off the remote. What I did just now was that I used my PS4 USB cable and and plugged it into the xbox one cable so it could stay powered by a USB power
source. I went and played a few games with the mic and it never shut off, I will do further testing tomorrow.

Xbox One controllers are designed to operate within 30 feet (9.1 m) of the console. If the controller has it impossible to connect another wireless device (such as a laptop, cordless phone, or wireless router) is interfering with the wireless controller's
connection to the console. Also no obtrusion should be between the controller and the console.

A wired connection at the distance you are proposing although may work in theory I find it not practical. The long connecting cable will cause more issues that will solve this situation in my opinion. It will be better if you get a direct connection of the
controller.

I have the same problem. I have a Wireless HDMI Range Extender and used it with my Xbox 360 so I could play Madden while walking on the treadmill in another room. I tried using it today and the range o the Xbox One is about half of what my 360 was..... I've
seen some people say that if you resynch the controller it might give you a little better range, but haven't tried that yet.

This is the Wireless HDMI extender I use, but I just saw it was discontinued
