Controller randomly stopped working PLEASE HELP ME

I just received the advanced warfare xbox one on Christmas and my controller has worked perfectly fine all the way up to yesterday night when i was playing my controller was running out of batteries and i went to change them and when i turned my controller
back on with brand new batteries it stopped working. I just said yeah I'll sync it back up tomorrow but now I've resynced it and it will not do anything. So i figured oh i need to update my remote so i plugged it in through micro usb and it still won't work.
Then i downloaded xbox smartglass figuring i could go through everything using my phone as a remote. Now get this, I launch settings on my smartglass and when the remote thing pops up NONE OF IT WORKS. I tried every sing button on that thing and none of it
works except (NOW GET THIS) i can scroll from side to side using two fingers. WTF why is that the only thing it will let me do? I'm just tryna have a nice day and play some minecraft but my xbox is being a pos. PLEASE HELP ME

my xbox 360 wired head set stopped working with my controller

my headset randomly stopped working with my controller but it works with my other controller? and my controller has full battery .

even when im in a xbox live party it doesnt come up saying i have a headset.

so i think its the bottom part of the controller where i plug it into thats not working and i dont know how to fix it , please help.

You need to do a hard reset. turn off xbox one and unplug for 5 to 10 seconds then turn it on again. I had this problem but it should not occur again for while but at least you can uses the controller again.

im having a similar issue except my controller works through the usb but WILL NOT work wirelessly. the controller will turn the xbox on but past that the light on the controller just blinks. Ive tried everything O_O it just will not work for any reason.
the batteries are fine. tried updating. hard resets. EVERYTHING IN THE FORUMS I HAVE TRIED. I really dont wanna blow another 40-50 on a new controller.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be ahppy to help.

By the looks of it based on your description, I believe the issue lies with the controller, possibly the wireless adapter inside of the controller. In order to test this, we need to rule out your console. Go ahead and do a
hard reset and power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console
for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and turn on the Xbox. If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
soft factory reset.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.

Make sure to select "Keep my games & apps" and have the correct account login information plus your Wi-Fi password ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add the account's that were on the Xbox and re-connect to your
network during the reset.

If the controller continues to not respond randomly after that troubleshooting, I suggest getting a micro-USB cable and connect it that way. If you know anyone with an Xbox One console, try the same controller on it and see if it disconnects.

Try it out and let us know the results!

Thanks for updating us with your reply. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you try using our Xbox One Wireless
Controller Solution and see if there any other troubleshooting solutions you may try. I'd further recommend trying the controller(s) on a different console, if you can, to see if it also has the same issue or not and help narrow it down to either a controller
or console issue to help decide if a full factory reset (removing everything) is even required.

Additionally, if it does turn out the controller is updated and still not acting correctly, then you may need to visit
