Controller Randomly Disconnects

About two months ago, my controllers randomly started disconnecting. I contacted support and followed all their directions. No real help. Sometimes they would work fine and not disconnect for several days but sometimes they disconnect every few minutes.
I have to do a hard restart. I wired my Xbox directly to my router thinking the issue might be with my wifi and Live disconnecting and causing the controllers to malfunction. This worked great for about a week but starting last night, they will not stay
connected more then ten minutes. It is very hard to troubleshoot when it is so random. I have read many online forms and this seems to be a common problem for many.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Both of my controllers are also disconnecting randomly

FIFA is the main game affected suffered 10 disconnects in one half!

I do have my xbox in the next room so not sure what the range of the controllers are

Yes buy a second controller and try that.

Borrow a freinds controller if need be.
