Controller randomly disconnect / re-connect

So, as the titles suggests I get a random disconnect at least once a day. It comes back on after a few seconds, sometimes only if I press any button on the controller!

Why has this not been addressed after 2 years please?

I know this doesn't seem to happen for everyone, but i certainly am not alone on this one. Why not just stick with the 360 protocol, worked absolutely fine for years!!

Wifi Disconnects then Controller

Even with the wireless now turned off (using ethernet) the controller disconnects randomly and will not re-sync without turning it off and on a few times. As I recall the controller uses wifi direct to connect to the console. Fantastic.

 

Xbox One Controller Disconnects

I bought my Xbox one about 3 weeks ago. It is the Unity bundle. Wireless Controller keeps randomly disconnecting.

Situation:

• Controller flashes white Xbox button
• Controller randomly disconnects (dashboard and games)
• Sometimes it auto re-connects (may take 5seconds to 2 minutes to re-connect)
• Sometimes as frequent as every 20 seconds up to every 5-10 minutes (varies)
• Sometimes I have to press on the Xbox white button to reconnect
• Sometimes when controller re-connects I get no input from controller (have to reboot Xbox One)
  

Hardware Overview:

• Xbox One (Unity Bundle)
• One Controller (Use wireless)
• Asus RT-N66U Wireless Router
• I do not have a kinect

This is what I have tried so far:

• Replaced entire Xbox One system with brand new one
• Replaced batteries with Duracell Quantum
• Turned off 5Ghz Band for Wireless Router
• Sniffed Wireless signals for overlap and collision (non-found)
• Restarted Xbox One
• Updated controller firmware to latest version
• Completely powered off Xbox one including taking out power cord, network cord, and batteries from controller
  
• Ensured Xbox one dashboard is at latest version
• Attempted different Xbox one controller
• Re-sync'd Xbox One controller multiple times

Hey there, TurokhanUK! The only way to get your random disconnects resolved is to get your controller repaired if you have done all the troubleshooting on our

Controller support page. If that doesn't work, you will need to get your console repaired. To help save you some time, if you are able to test your controller on another console for a day to find out if it happens there, that will help you determine if
it's the controller or your console causing the issue.

Let us know if you are still experiencing this after getting both of those replaced!

 

I've got 2 Xbox One at my house. One (Sunset White edition) works just fine and the Day One edition has the same controller issues. I've tried to replicate that conditions with the white console but it never disconnects and works like it is suppose too.
Just replaced my Day One with a Halo 5... Guess what??? Still have to problems but the disconnects will reconnect almost instantly and oppose to waiting about 5 second before. Good luck getting it solve as it seems that no one at Microsoft will own up to the
problem.

UPDATE: Since i have turned off the option for kinect to sign me in, ie just sign in, this issue has not returned.

 

This sounds weird but I was having the same issues. Out of frustration, I turned the wifi off on my iPhone 6 plus and it worked. No more disconnects at all.

 

I'm getting this issue frequently too, three times in the last half hour.

I have tried all the troubleshooting methods, no controller updates available, and have confirmed my batteries are 100% charged.

I don't have a Kinect, and an Xbox power cycle hasnt solved it.

No wifi is interfering with it (verified) and my controller is literally 2 metres directly in-front of the xbox with nothing in the way

I only got my Xbox One yesterday in time for Fallout 4, and already I regret buying it.

I think I've ruled out everything bar a console or controller fault, so I guess now I have to send it back

Hugely frustrating. Why can't Microsoft ever produce anything that just works properly?

 

Maybe todays update fixed it?
