    Controller problems?


    Since getting my Series X back in January of this year, my controller likes to be a little funky. It's the standard controller that comes with the console first of all.

    The oldest of its issues is that whenever a game decides it wants to auto update, usually during a gaming session too, it messes with the connectivity of my controller. There'll be a brief disconnect before reconnecting, asking me to confirm if this is the controller I'm using and then it will work like normal for the rest of the day.

    The most recent issue I am now facing is that my controller has been turning off while I'm in party chat as if it's registering as being idle even though, ya know, I'm in a party and the controller has never done that (of course unless the batteries are low). And yes, I did check my batteries, I've updated the controller firmware, I've even reset the controller (??? apparently by holding down the guide button for 10 seconds), and I've just power cycled my console- hoping that one fixes things.

    Just want to know what the hell is up with that and if there are any other possible solutions for this.

    Four Channel,

    In my experience, I've had a lot of people have issues with controllers where buttons would not be completely "functional" to where not all buttons would move. And in SOME instances, when they would charge or change the batteries, it would work again. I'm
    not saying this is the problem, i'm simply saying he should eliminate ALL possibilities before looking into a replacement/defect controller.

    Trust me, I worked at Gamestop for many years, and now I have seen it a lot of times.

    But you also do have a good point Four Channel, to where it may be a defect, but we just want to once again eliminate all possibitlites. I'm not trying to say you're wrong, because your not. :) Just wanna make sure we check everything out, and charging was
    one of the troubleshooting that has solved an issue like this with many people I haev assisted in the past.
