    I am also having this exact same issue! It started after the July update, and the only workaround I came up with is to shut off INSTANT ON!!! This is very annoying as it defeats the purpose of having instant on and using voice commands! I assure it is not
    the console as I was told to return mine after several several calls to xbox support! I was lucky enough to purchase a warranty through Game Stop and a. On my fourth console, three in the last 3 days!!! I urge you all to contact support because they keep telling
    me they never had heard of this issue!! Which I find hard to believe! Please let them know so hopefully they can do a patch!!

    I am having a new problem now, when I turn my console on it keeps saying my kinect is new and it's trying to connect to console , also my controller looks like it's searching for the system. I have to do a hard reset now every time I want to play and when
    I turn it off and come back I get the same problem,

    Try shutting off instant on feature, I know it's a pain but it is the only thing that seems to help my issues!

    You're welcome sir, I hope it helps your issues. I firmly believe all these issues arose as a result of the July update because up until that point I had no problems whatsoever. And now my xbox won't turn on or off my cable box l, but it works fine with
    my surround sound and tv still??

    Try this:

    on the console, unplug all the cords connected, place your finger on the power button for 30 seconds, then plug everything back in. turn on console

    On the controller, take out the batteries, place your finger on the power button on the controller for 30 seconds, put batteries back in, resynch controller

    If it continues to fail after this point, try restore the console to factory defaults. If that doesn't work, I would suggest calling support and making a repair for the controller

    Ok guys I got the problem solved... I had to download the update manually on an empty flash drive, must be at least 2gigs!!! Then install it onto my xbox one, let it update and then I unplugged every single thing I have!!! If you guys need assistance contact
    me on the xbox otherwise all the info you need is on the xbox support site and make sure you dl the update titled 2!!!!!

    Four Channel,

    In my experience, I've had a lot of people have issues with controllers where buttons would not be completely "functional" to where not all buttons would move. And in SOME instances, when they would charge or change the batteries, it would work again. I'm
    not saying this is the problem, i'm simply saying he should eliminate ALL possibilities before looking into a replacement/defect controller.

    Trust me, I worked at Gamestop for many years, and now I have seen it a lot of times.

    But you also do have a good point Four Channel, to where it may be a defect, but we just want to once again eliminate all possibitlites. I'm not trying to say you're wrong, because your not. :) Just wanna make sure we check everything out, and charging was
    one of the troubleshooting that has solved an issue like this with many people I haev assisted in the past.
