Controller/Possible Joystick Problem

I was playing Destiny at the time (everything worked fine), but when I went to load into another area, it acts like I am holding my right thumbstick straight down... I even loaded up another game, and sure enough my character looks straight down with no
possible way for me to look up even the slightest bit. I also tried hard resetting my console.

Faulty left analogue stick (drifting up)

Mine has been doing this for a while. I bought a new controller, and out of the box it did the same thing. Is it possible that its a software problem or has this been certified a joystick problem?

It appears that the thumb stick on the controller has failed. If it is under warranty you should get it replaced if not it will probably be just as inexpensive to replace it to get it repaired.

Yes, it is possible that the padding on your removable joystick is damaged. The padding is there for comfort and cushioning, and also helps keep the joysticks in place. If the padding is damaged, it can cause discomfort and can also make the joysticks move easier.

If the padding is damaged, you may want to replace the removable joystick. There are repair kits available that allow you to replace the padding, but it may be easier to replace the entire joystick.

I even think that it is cheaper and safer to buy a new one so as not to have future problems or other inconveniences with the same control.

I've had issues with their controllers as well and did a little looking into it. From what I understand Microsoft went with the cheapest possible joysticks they could, so that could be why you had the joystick problem. My joystick problems were that they
started to drift. The bumper thing is new to me never heard that one before. Whatever you do do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your money on an elite controller. It's as crappy as the regular ones if not worse. I think 2 months after I got it the rubber grips
started coming off of the back outside part of the controller and now the rubber is coming off of the back inside of it.
