Controller or Console?

Been having issues with the console lately. This involves turning the console on with the controller.

I press the guide button like normal and sometimes the console will turn on, sometimes not. In both cases, the controller lights up so I know it is powered. When the console doesn't turn on with the controller I press the face button on the console, it lights
up like it is going to turn on then immediately shuts off. A couple tries later and it comes back on.

The power-brick is always showing white. Batteries in controller are fresh.

The controller is synced. The controller works fine when the console is on. Is there an issue with the sleep state? Is there an issue with turning the console off with the controller/menu? Maybe I should disable all the background stuff that is supposed
to happen while the console is sleeping and power it down completely each time?

Anyone have an idea?

Controller but not a fan of it at all.

I liken it to playing a game like Rock Band with a controller. I don't play Forza much anymore because I'm wheel-less.

Controller here. To me, gaming wheels just feel like poor excuses for the real thing. Besides, I can never get comfortable using one. That, and I like to know I'm still playing a video game. If I want to get behind a wheel, I'll walk outside & get in my
car.

 

Sorry to hear that you're having these issues. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it completely shuts down then unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. If the console was plugged into a power bar plug
it directly into a wall socket when you hook it back up again.

 

Yeah, done that. The issue keeps cropping up. Steady white on the brick. I've also already tried to "reset" the brick by unplugging both from the wall and console until the charge dissipated.
