    okay so somehow my controller is on and connected but my console is not. I activate the controller and it turns on normally, but the console

    does not activate with it. How is this even possible and what's wrong with it?

    Controller not turning console on

    The past 4 days, having powered off the console the night before using the controller, my controller will not turn my Xbox One X on.

    I have to press the button on the front of the console to get it to turn on.

    Additionally, when doing this the console boots from energy saving mode, even though I always keep it set to instant-on.

    To give a better idea of what's happening.

    I turned the console off monday evening around 7:30PM using the controller.

    When I got home from work tuesday afternoon(around 2:30pm) and tried to turn the console on with my controller the console wouldn't turn on.

    I tried turning the controller off using the Home button and even taking the battery out and replacing it then tried again with no luck.

    I had to press the button on the console before it would start, and then it booted from cold/energy saving.

    As I said above, this has happened all week so far.

    Additionally, the controller I'm using a custom one from Xbox Design Labs.

    I haven't tried using the controller which came with the console since experiencing this issue this week.

    Are there any trouble shooting tips I could try before sending the console off for servicing?

    You mentioned this, but how did you turn ON the Console with that same controller if the controller does not connect to the Console?

    Just a question out of curiosity =)

    Ok try to explain it a little better.

    What may be the problem is that it is a dead controller but cannot be for sure based on the info.

    Yeah, done that. The issue keeps cropping up. Steady white on the brick. I've also already tried to "reset" the brick by unplugging both from the wall and console until the charge dissipated.

    Sorry to hear that you're having these issues. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it completely shuts down then unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. If the console was plugged into a power bar plug
    it directly into a wall socket when you hook it back up again.

    Have you tried re-syncing your controller to the xbox by pressing the sync buttons on both the console and the controller?

    Hi there,

    when you are trying to use the controller on the Xbox 360, do you do that with or without the wireless usb adapter.

    Be sure to try it without when trying, since it shouldn't be needed on the 360 console. Use the pairing buttons on console and controller to establish a connection like show here:
