    Controller not working after turning back on...


    So I tried this repeatedly and its the same every time. I take the headset adapter out of my controller when I'm not using the headphones. Then when I want to use the headphones I plug the adapter back into the controller but nothing happens. I then turn
    the controller off and turn it back on.... The light goes on but the controller does not work. Not even after taking batteries out and plunging it in the xbox with the Usb that came with it. I have to cycle the xbox completely off and then turn it back on.
    Not that big of a deal just gets annoying and thought you guys would like to know, try it and see if it happens to you. And I am not using a xbox headset... Just the headset adapter with bebeats by dre solos. I have changed the batteries and updated it and
    there is only one controlled hooked up etc... Etc... so if anyone responds saying the stuff from the support page... Don't waste your time I've done everything. Thought I'd put everything in one so I don't have to explain myself numerous times. And it only
    happens by manually turning off, not letting it power off over time. ThThank you and good gaming..

    I have this same issue. It usually starts while I am playing Cod Ghosts extinction mode. Everything is working fine until the batteries in my controller die. After I plug the controller back into the xb1, I can hear the sound from the game through my stereo
    headset after a couple seconds. However, I can't hear the other people or they can't hear me. I have tried muting and unmuting them through the game options, but that doesn't fix it.

    Simply turning off the controller and turning it back on does not fix it.

    Simply turning off the XB1 does not fix it.

    Turning off the XB1 by holding my finger on the power button for several seconds (hard reset?) and then turning it back on does seem to fix it.

    After attempting to use a flash drive on Xbox 360 the system now will not turn on

    after plugging in a kingston datatraveler 100 G3 16gb flash drive my xbox's controller slots stopped working then after turning off the system it will not start back up

    the power brick light stays in orange... can someone help me out on what to do??

    I'm curious, if you go back to where everything is working fine. Then hold down the Xbox button on the controller and choose the option to Turn controller off.

    Do things work fine after that?

    After 10 minutes, does the Xbox go back to the dimmed screen?

    I had this problem before but I got it working after a while. Try turning off your console and turning it back on. Then, press the 2 sync buttons, one is on the controller and one is on the console itself, at the same time. If that don't work, turn off the
    console again and turn it back on and try to press each sync button in a different combination. Hope this fixes your controller problem.

    I had a problem with mine as well. My bundled headset wouldn't work and after plugging in and unplugging it a couple times, my controller completely stopped working. I turned everything off, then unplugged the power for the console to make sure it was completely
    shut down. Then when turning it back on, the controller worked again.

    After having these exact controller issues start for me yesterday after unplugging a headset or turning my controller back on after it shut down from idle, I found this forum post and cannot believe they haven't put out a fix for this, yet, seeing that so
    many people are having the issue since september. Its bad enough that the controller turns off briefly after plugging in the usb to charge the battery or unplugging it when its finished charging, but now this new issue for me with it turning on but none of
    the button working is insane. We should not have to *** down the console and restart for it to work again, only for it to happen again whenever the controller turns off by idle. And the few times when it does turn back on and work, the headset that is connected
    to it doesnt work. The factory headset or my Microsoft stereo headset. Its unreal to see the older posts in this thread and now realize the the problem still exists 2 months later. Please help us out, Microsoft!

    My (1) controller is now syncing as (2)

    Make sure no one is signed into the console and turn everything off/unplug anything plugged into the console. If you have a wheel or controller plugged in it sometimes automatically detects as #1 position. :p

    After everything is unplugged turn the Xbox back on with the controller and see if that works!
