Controller not vibrating/weak vibration when holding home button (Series X)

Suddenly my controller stopped vibrating (or is VERY weak, it's inconsistent) for any event that involves holding the home button (accepting invites, turning in rewards, bringing up reset menu etc).

It’s not a controller problem as it happens with multiple, so it appears to be console related. However, I tried doing a full factory reset and nothing! The odd thing I noticed is when the home menu first loads, if I press the button quickly it will vibrate like it used to, but then it stops. It also vibrates like normal if I hold it while the Power-off menu is already opened...

The issue is relatively minor, but now I keep thinking it might be malfunctioning while I'm playing games too. I could just be overthinking it but I keep feeling like it also isn't vibrating when its supposed to in games now too!

I found past posts with similar issues, but no solutions! Has anyone managed to solve this issue yet?

Have you changed the batteries? The first thing it does to conserve power is to reduce, then eliminate rumble

Hello The, just today Microsoft released the March update for the consoles of line One, after having done the reset, see in the settings and then on system if it does not have an update to do, after updating the system, check if the control needs to be updated as well.

I am having this problem as well. Brand new series x, brand new controller, brand new batteries. System is up to date and so is the controller. Has to be a software issue, this does not happen on my Xbox One.

Hi TomaXBOX2016!

Your Xbox Series X/S controller should still work normally on Xbox One console.

Make sure to change your vibration settings.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings.
Select Accessibility > Controller, and then select Vibration settings.
If you have multiple controllers, choose the controller that you want to change and select Configure.
For an Elite Series 2 controller, select the configuration profile that you want to change, select Edit > Vibration, and then move the sliders to adjust the vibration.
For an Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn vibration on or off.

To turn off Controller vibration:

-Press the Guide Button (The Big silver shiny button in the middle of the controller that looks like the Xbox logo)

-Press Right on the D-pad until you get to the 'Settings' menu.

-Then go down and select 'Preferences' on the Settings menu.

-Go down and select 'Vibration' on the Preferences menu.

-Uncheck the box for 'Enable Vibration

That's it!

Seems the confusion may be in the 'X' button reference... The Guide Button is seperate from the 'X' button. =)
