    Controller Not Turning On After Update


    Hello, yesterday I went to download the xbox one controller update. I plugged it in via usb and midway through the update it failed. I then tried to turn the controller back on and it would not turn on. I am using a regular xbox one controller with
    new batteries. I have tried different sets of new batteries and still nothing. I updated my other controller right after and had no problems. This is very frustrating. The controller is almost new and hasn't been used for more than 5 hours of gameplay. Has
    anyone else encountered this issue?

    I just bought a new afterglow headset for my xbox one and started the controller update. after I clicked accept, my controllers power light went out. The update kept failing and my controller wouldn't turn on so I shut my console off to restart it and now
    my [Mod Removed] controller is frickin working and I'm getting realllly *** off. Please tell me how to fix this so I don't have to waste another $60 on a stupid controller that your console just ruins

    What batteries are in the controller?

    What are the volts and mah of those batteries?

    what cable are you using to update this?

    Have you made sure to lay the controller down and ensure that the sub cable is not moving during the update?

    hi, try doing a hard reset of the console by holding the power button down on the front of the console until it turns off, unplug it from the outlet for 30 seconds, plug it back in then power back on and try the controller update again.

    Have you found any solutions to this?? I had the exact same issue. After attempting an update, it failed half way, and froze the system. Now it will not power up at all, and doesnt register on my PC as even being an xbox controller. Tech support was absolutely
    useless, and said it just needs replaced. But I was literally playing on it this morning with no issues until I decided to update the damn thing.

    And my GF just put a new skin on it for my birthday literally last week :-(
