Controller Not Syncing & Requires An Update

Hi,

I was recently using a USB to use my controller while my batteries were charging. The next day I tried to establish a wireless connection but my controller(Xbox One) wouldn't connect to my Xbox One X. I plugged it into the console using a USB to connect it but then I was notified the controller needed an update. As the controller was updating I got an error & it was recommended I removed the batteries, after doing this the controller was still de-synced and I couldn't restart the update. I had to restart my Xbox (holding the button down for 5-10 seconds) numerous times but my controller refused to connect even with a USB. The sync button also isn't working (It won't flash faster) when I try to establish a wireless connect. Now using a keyboard to navigate and with my controller still flashing when plugged into the console with a USB: When I go to my accessories the controller isn't connected so I cannot update it, it just keep flashing. How can I fix this?

Yes, if none of the solutions work, replace will be necessary, as it may be a hardware issue. Sorry about that.

Thanks for helping out. Yes it was able to update prior to the last update and it is a brand new micro cable. i am also having the sync issue on the controllers like most others, hard boot required to sync them

I’m sorry to hear you’re having this problem, have you tried re-syncing the controller? And does it require an update at all? This can be checked in the accessories section in your settings.
