    Controller Not Staying Connected

First let me state, I read though and tried all the troubleshooting. I bought Xbox1 in October and this particular controller a few months later - late November-ish. It had been working great and I came home today and started my Xbox up no problems. I
was in a game for about 5 minutes and it told my controller disconnected, however the light was still on. The Xbox no longer recognized the controller, when I navigated to the settings menu with a 2nd controller. However if I plugged the controller in it
was fine. I swapped the charge kit batter for a fresh one, and then for some good old fashioned double AA's. Both time the controller resynced, worked for about 10 seconds, and then disconnected with the logo staying lit up. I tried all the batteries in
the 2nd controller to make sure it worked and it did. I don't know what else to do besides get a new controller. Any ideas?

I did power cycle my xbox and did look for any controller updates as well.

    :)

  2. Xbox One controller not staying connected

Not 100% sure this is the right forum to use, sorry if it isn't

Anyways I bought a Xbox One controller around early January this year and after the brief pairing process I have had a breeze using it until the past few days. I used it almost every day for either GTA, Forza Horizon 3, and most recently For honor. Now I
cannot get the controller to connect to the wireless adapter, I hold down the Xbox button till its starts flashing, 3 seconds later it turns off. I've read a bunch about this on other community forums with only a few saying they have a fix for this but nothing
seems like a sure fire way to fix it.

    Things I have done:

A suggestion from the community is plugging it in using a micro USB and restarting the computer, This helped it connect for 5 minutes until going back to being broken.

Downloaded Xbox accessories app and updated to latest firmware and again fixed briefly but stopped again.

Made sure all other services are up to date including windows

Even after plugging my controller directly into my PC there's something wrong with the triggers which becomes very apparent in for honor and GTA, If I'm holding down the left trigger and press my RT, It does not register and RT press and quickly thinks I've
let go of my LT and quickly re-applied it.

Again This is not just me there are plenty others with the same problem and very few have been able to fix it, a lot of people are pointing fingers at the anniversary edition of windows 10.

    Controller Not Staying Connected

    Hi theBeard1325,

Sorry you're having problems with your controller. Do you have one controller that is working fine and one controller that is not working? If so then it may be your controller. If not then it may be your console, which we'll need to figure out. Also can
you verify that you performed the power cycle by actually unplugging the Xbox? With the instant-on feature often the Xbox does not fully shut down. If you've done this, updated the firmware on the controller, and still are having issues then I would recommend
contacting support here to see if you still have a warranty on your controller. If you do have a warranty left on it then please
go here and you can request a new controller.

Well which is it? controller? battery shifting? console? Don't send back the console until u try the other things first.

Ok, back with an update. It was the damn console. Not my controllers, my wireless, my glass shelving, my phone.... It was the console.

If you've tried everything, and you're still having problems, do what I did and go ahead and request a replacement console. Don't even bother with customer service, just to request another console.

    What a relief finally.

Solution!!! I had the same problem with mine. It has been happening since day one but seemed to get a little worse over time. It got to the point where I couldn’t play COD online at all without the controller disconnecting. It turns out that the batteries
shift in the controller causing it to disconnect. I put a small piece of foam tape on the inside of the battery cover to hold them in tighter and boom! No more problems! I use the play & charge kit so I haven’t tested with AA’s but I would imagine that it
would work. Good luck, hope this works for you guys too…
