    Controller not recognising headset?


    Hi all.

    I have recently purchased a brand new Xbox One X (I'm in the UK) approx 2 weeks ago.

    The Xbox has been running perfectly and last week I bought myself a Hyper X gaming headset (specifically compatible with the Xbox one x controller)

    I simply plugged it in and it's worked flawlessly for the last week other than some minor trouble.

    Tonight I have turned on my Xbox One X and the headset is not registering at all.

    I just have the little Mic with a cross through it signal on the dashboard and no sound is coming through my headset at all.

    I have restarted.

    I have changed batteries to fresh new ones.

    I have powered off the controller. In out combos.

    I have checked my controller is up to date and it shows as being fine.

    Has anyone got any ideas as this doesn't seem right or acceptable for a brand new Xbox. Are the controllers a weak point? I'm confused.

    Hi

    If an Official Xbox One controller is recognised by your Xbox One console where the controller from Zedlabz is not recognised then I would try reaching out to the people who made the controller for support.

    anyone having an issue where the game doesn't seem to recognise the controller? i have a wired windows controller (xbox360) and this game just doesn't seem to recognise it,is it because i actually need an xbox one controller? im on windows 10

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for your post! Try connecting the controller to the console using a Micro USB cable and attempt to use the headset. If this does not work, the controller's 3.5mm jack could have been damaged. To correct this damage, using the controller's warranty,
    a service order can be created on our
    Device Support     page, or using the
    Contact Us     portal to speak with an agent to discuss options for the controller.

    Ezra, many thanks for the quick response. I will take the issue up with the UK contact's tomorrow morning as it's 11.30pm here.

    Headset or controller problems.

    I have exactly the same problem, working fine through 3.5mm headset jack on controller, next day no sound at all through controller, only through tv. Controllers won't recognise headset plugged in. I have two controller and both the same. Headset ok on other
    devices and worked fine on xbox one s prior. Just randomly stooped recognising headset plugged in.

    Have followed all trouble shooting recommendations and no joy.

    Controllers recognise old not working microsoft headset but do not recognise the turtle beach ones that had been working fine until Friday.

    Thank you, I have a wireless Controller with a jack plug port, the headset is a genuine xbox one, I have plugged it in the controller but it fails to recognise it & the other headsets I have tried, my son has 2 xboxes & the headsets don't work on either
    controller.
