controller not linking with console on startup sometimes

OK so I have a problem I have not been able to find a topic on or a solution. I will be playing and then I shut down my system with no problem. now sometimes I will go to start my Xbox up again and press the power button and the controller turns on but the
console does not.

The controller doesn't sync with the system after this and I have to re-sync but the controller will not. it usually takes about 2 to 3 times of turning the system on and off and re-syncing multiple times before the controller will actually link with the
Xbox. this has occurred with 2 controllers so far so I don't think its the controller itself.

it doesnt do that always and I thought maybe it had something to do with the game still going and me turning the system off so I did a bunch of experimenting and nothing worked. sometimes it will go a week without doing it and sometimes it will do it three
times in a row.

It is possible to disable the startup and shut down chimes int he console settings.

Startup Chime

• You can now modify when you hear the startup chime! You’ll find three new options in
  Settings > Power & startup > Power mode & startup.
  • On (startup chime plays anytime the console is powered on).
  • Only with power button or voice (startup chime plays when console is powered on via the power button or voice; does not play when powered on with the controller).
  • Off (startup chime never plays).

The sound is probably normal and it should be possible to adjust it to your preferences using the instructions below.

I have an Elite console and have the same issue with the console in "Instant-On" mode. The only thing that works for me is to go to settings > network settings > advanced settings > Alternate MAC address >clear. Then restart console. Unfortunately this
is only a temporary fix since this issue will happen again the next day.

 

well I have had a lot of luck turning on the system by itself and then starting the controller. went all weekend and most of this week without it not syncing again. but last night it messed up again. so think its just a glitch in the system nobody seems
to be doing a *** thing about.

 

I'm in the preview and a few of us were getting this issue, We recently got an update and it seems to be fixed, people not in the preview should be getting the update very soon,
