controller not controlling movement on screen correctly

when playing fifa 19 and pressing to send players right they are going left ? so movement on screen not synched with controller - any ideas?

Controller Issues.

My controller is not working correctly. After a few seconds the character on the screen start moving by himself forwards. Or in the menu screen start going up in the selections. No movement in the left thumbstick and still the character is moving.

 

Xbox controller acting strangely

I bought an Xbox one in January 2018, have played on it for a few hours at most (not more that 5 hours in totality), but when I started playing yesterday all of a sudden the X Box controller started responding in a strange manner, it's as if the left side
stick is always triggered and whatever menus or options I select on the home screen without me controlling anything on the Controller, all activities get stuck on the left hand side corner of the screen. Am not able to use the controller to do anything.

Not sure if I am have expained the issue correctly, but if anyone is aware of such a scenario when using the controllers, please assist me.

When you use the controller in other games does the controller work correctly (i.e. moving the player character right when you push right, or moving a cursor right when you press right and vice versa)?

Is only FIFA 19 having that problem?

 

If this is the case then you may want to check the controller settings in FIFA19 and make sure the horizantal movement axis is not inverted.

 

its more noticeable in fifa 19 , we have had the game for about two weeks and this problem started two days ago - its not all the time either so really weird but my son is getting very frustrated

You can customize your controller settings from the main menu or before starting any match and heading over to the "Controls" setting. I've clocked in a lot of hours into FIFA 19, and if you notice this is a consistency issue (sometimes it works fine others
it's all over the place) it could be a server issue. Depending on what days your son is playing on, he will experience different gameplay. The best example is on weekends, there is a competitive mode that is swarmed by players from across the globe and it
affects any online game mode. If this matches what's going on, EA sends out these bigger updates every so often that help stabilize the gameplay. Hope you find this useful!

If this is happening everywhere and not just with Fifa 19 I would check the Xbox Accessories app on the console as it has a couple of options in the app that can invert the X and Y axis on the controller left stick.
