Controller no longer charging!

Recently my Xbox One controller has not been charging properly.

I bought my Xbox One back in March when Titanfall was released, and at the same time I bought the official play and charge kit.

I had an issue with my original controller and sent it back to MS for a replacement.

I updated the controller when I received it and all was well.

These past couple of weeks however the battery isn't charging.

It runs flat, so I plug in the USB cable, but after about a minute the orange light turns white and the on-screen display shows the controller as plugged in but not charging.

If I remove the lead from the controller, the on-screen display shows the better is in the red.

I've tried updating the controller, but this changes nothing.

Is there any way I can resolve this issue?

I'm going to be extremely *** off if I have to buy another play and charge kit so soon.

Performance Issues

I figured this out by mistake if you have another controller charging be sure it's turned off and the game will no longer freeze you out of the controlls

Mine works fine great item. Fast charging, good long lead. I can not get over the whole controller is it seems lighter and smaller than a wired 360 controller. 10/10

Sorry to hear about the charging issue. I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.

Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.

Remove the batteries from your controller and wait 5 minutes.

Plug in your console and reinsert the batteries into your controller.

Power on your console and plug in the USB cable, then plug the USB cable into the controller to see if the issue continues to occur.

OK. After i update my controller im having issues with the battery charge, no longer it assumes the charge, there is a led and it´s always off. Dont know what to do.

PS: Battery and cable work fine on other xbox controller

You could try and charge it via a wallplug. I have rechargable batteries for my controllers and I find that they last longer once fully charge via the wall plug then they did when charge via my xbox. They also charge quicker

Yes: either Background Downloads, or Cloud Storage syncing your saved games with the cloud. Or a controller connected with the Play & Charge kit... all perfectly normal, as long as the console turns off fully in a little while (or maybe longer if it
is the controller charging).
