Controller never stays paired. Last update makes everything more difficult.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with your controllers! To start out, do you have any other USB devices plugged into your Xbox One that might be causing an issue? Try only having your controllers connected if there are any USB devices plugged in to see
if there's any change.

Updates:

Paired both controllers to console at the same time. Both controllers lost and regain sync at the same time.

Paired Elite controller to iPhone. No disconnects.

Paired one controller to console and other to phone. Controller connected to console disconnected, controller connected to iPhone stayed connected.

So, did a few more test and found an interesting pattern:

On a new user on windows:

1 - Pair the controller fresh. Works fine. I can also switch to my user and its working.

2 - Restart the windows with the controller paired. Stops working. Controller shows as paired but its never recognized as explained in last reply.

3 - After step two if i remove the pairing and add again while in the same session of windows it works. It also works if i paired the controller originally in the user 2, got back to my user and restarted the pc.

4 - If i remove the pairing and then restart the pc without any pairing then its stops completly, it is never found again for a new pairing. this is true even in the new user. If i create a third user on windows then this user works until i do the same step.

So that explains why i was able to pair first time in my pc but never again. For some reason if i restart the windows without it paired then i can never find it again on that user, and only creating a whole new user things work

Hi thanks for replying. I cant acctually pair the controller with the xbox. I pressed both pairing buttons but it won’t pair as the controller light stays black

Updating the controller through Xbox Accessories has yielded the most results so far, however, to update the situation.

The controller is staying connected via the USB-C Cable plugged into the controller and PC. This is a positive, it would still disconnect and play up before updating the controller.

The controller will NOT stay connected WITHOUT the Cable plugged in however. No matter how much I try to pair the two, they will pair for about 3 seconds, and then something just rejects it, and the controller goes back to pairing.

It was late at night when I was sorting this out so I didn't manage to check Windows Updates but I'm on Windows 10 v.22H2 already. There is a Framework update so I'm installing that as precautionary measures but I'm unsure how much it will change.
