Controller needs to be connected with USB for party chat

I have my Xbox One setup in my living room (close to my laptop and TV).

When my wife wants to watch TV, I use the stream option in the Xbox App to play my games.

The problem for me is that whenever I want to join a party to speak with and hear my friends, I need to connect my controller with a USB cable to my laptop eventhough I'm only 6 ft away from my Xbox One.

If I don't connect the controller with USB, I'm unable to chat with my friends.

As soon as the streaming option takes over, the chat in- and output are taken over by my laptop.

The controller still works wireless for other inputs.

Is there a solution to my problem?

    p.s.

Normally it wouldn't be a problem for me, but my friends keep complaining that my voice is crackling as soon as I use the stream option (tried different USB cables and controllers, not solved it). Whenever I turn of the streaming, the sound quality is good
    again.

Settings for sound in- and output are correct on my laptop (via controller).

    :)

  2. Anyone else have this problem. Chat pad one s controller.

Bought s controller for pc connected via Bluetooth. Bought chat pad for it. Chat pad will only work when controller is connected via USB to pc. Bought doggie for x one controllers. Chat pad still refused to work wirelessly with s. However it will work wirelessly
with first Gen x one controller and doggie.

  3. Aux microphone doesn't work with Party chat.

Hi, I've been completely unable to use The front Mic/Headset Aux jacks on my PC to use party chat in any way. I have an Astro A40 headset that works On Xbox connected to a controller, On many other Windows apps (Steam, Discord, Teamspeak, Skype, etc..) using
the Aux jacks, and even a USB microphone via the astro mixamp pro.

With the Xbox App, if I connect my headset to an Xbox One controller connected to my PC, party chat works. It also works when I use my headset via USB in party chat. However, using the standard front aux jacks does not work for the party chat. It even states
"A microphone is not detected for this player." I don't know if it's an issue on my end or if you can't use it. I feel it's a massive oversight as many PC gamers use front Aux jacks for audio/mic, and it's rather inconvenient to have a controller wired to
you when you're not using it. Help or otherwise a fix of this issue would be a big boost to the quality of the Xbox App.

    Xbox one audio adapter

Disconnect the battery and the chat adapter. Reconnect battery and re sync to the xbox. Check is there are any updates for the controller. If so, updated. If not, turn the controller off. Then connect the chat adaptor and then the headphones. Turn controller
    on.

Also try doing this with the controller connected by USB to the XBOX.

You can also maunally mute unmute your headset in the party chat settings.

    Turtle beach headphones help

The Turtle Beach Headsets come with a Controller to USB adaptor.

You need to connect this up, go to "Settings" and "Updates" and select "Update Controller".

Once you've done this they should work fine.

After this also, to be sure you're not accidentally in game chat or having a game that's messing up you should try party chat while you have no game disc inserted.

Let us know how you get on.

    Xbox S Controller

Try using a wired controller. You could also try using a 'USB to Micro USB charging cable' to connect your controller to the console. Benefits are you won't need to keep changing batteries and button inputs go straight through the wired connection
so might reduce any lag you might be experiencing (as batteries discharge the Wifi Signal used by the controller can also get weaker and contribute to input lag). Using the USB cable also stops the controller from switching itself off automatically (handy
if you're using a Racing Wheel and want to chat to your party without having the controller repeatedly switch itself off).

My Xbox One Controller wont Update, i am currently at firmware version 2.3.2381.0 and want to update to 2.3.2385.0 and i cannot used my headset adapter. When i try to update it says no update available.

I have two Xbox One Wireless Controllers with one that has a 3.5mm jack. The Controller with the jack updated to Firmware 2.3.2385.0 and didn't need to be connected to the Console by the USB Cable at all it just needed to be turned on. The other Xbox One
Wireless Control that does not have the 3.5mm Jack has 2.3.2381.0 Firmware Version Update unable to Update to Firmware 2.3.2385.0 says that No Update is Available. I only need to connect this Controller to the Console with the USB Cable & also remove the Battery.
I am unable to use this Controller in Party Chat and while i'm playing a game disconnects itself saying Controller Disconnected and the Controller Battery is fully Charged and still turned on. Please help me update my Wireless Controllers so that they both
have the Firmware update 2.3.2385.0 and i can then use both Controllers again not just the one controller.
