Controller mods and repair

I very recently began tinkering with modding xbox one controllers and repairing them. I have noticed the difficulty (at least for me) in handling the controllers while pulling mainly the snap together pieces without feeling like I am "manhandling" the
controller. Is there a particular vise clamp or some sort of grip anyone has had success with to hold the controller firmly but safely during mods or repairs?

no idea why the mods keep saying to reset the console keeping games and apps, basically your audio port on the controller is duff. if under warranty then get repaired, if not find a local repair shop or purchase another.

The OP clearly stated that they had opened up the controller in an attempt to self repair. Not only is discussion of self repair not allowed in these forums, but the attempt would mean that Microsoft will not repair it. No piece of Xbox equipment that has been opened up is eligible for repair by Microsoft. They will have to either take it to someplace locally or purchase a new one unfortunately. As an "advisor", you should know this stuff.

It seems to be an issue with some wired controllers, as one of mine does exactly this, and the other does not.
