Controller Losing Connection

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue lately and if it is possibly an issue with the latest update. It is affecting me and my room mate. We both have Xbox One S systems.

When we are in game play the system randomly loses connection to the controller. Most the time it happens several times within a few minutes. We have tried different controllers and swapping the rechargeable batteries with Duracell alkaline batteries. The
issue is happens no matter what.

Anyone else having this issue?

It will not be a virus.

are you using the same battery pack on the each controller when the problem arises?

-

if you have a plug and play cable try plugging in the controller without the battery pack attached,this will show you if there is a problem with the pack or the controller.

-

if the problem is still there when using a cable and is the same on all controllers then it will be a console problem.

This has become an issue for many people. The support team knows about it and have not released any info that I know of as to a fix. It is being discussed im the preview forums as it did not seem to start until after the console and controller updates. And
I feel your pain as I am having the issue also.

Let's try to power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX ONE" animation
loading screen when you power it back up. then re sync all the controllers

If the controller is having an issue staying synced, it could be the controller itself. The Kinect's IR is also able to sync the controller and if it is covered this may prevent the controller from re-syncing itself through the Kinect. If it happens when
the Kinect is covered I would make sure to leave it uncovered and see if that helps. My other suggestion would be to see if it does it with another working controller or not as well.

Hello Musician,

Sorry for the issue with the controllers. There could be many reasons as to why they are disconnecting. You can try the

controller troubleshooter, also is the console plugged directly into a wall socket? This can impact your controller as well, if it isn't please plug into the wall and try them again.
