Controller loses connection via USB on Xbox and PC

Hi,

my problem is, that my controller loses connection about every five seconds. I tried updating everything, fresh batteries, USB cables with and without batteries, and I even connected it to my PC (Windows 10) via USB cable but it still lost connection. I
tried sending my xbox and controller back but I got no replies etc, so I'm not getting my money back. I ordered a new controller and it worked. For about two hours. Now the same thing: It loses connection and I can't do anything. (USB on PC, USB on Xbox, wireless
on Xbox, removed any other divices in a range of 10ft, basically the entire troubleshooting site on xbox support)

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

for anyone with controller issues, this popped up in tonight's preview update.
A fix to address an issue for users who find their controller will no longer connect via a wireless connection, and only works over USB. If this has occurred to you, after taking this system update, you will be able to connect your controller via a USB cable and wait a few seconds before unplugging it. This will recover your controller and you will be able to connect wirelessly. It is expected that subsequent controller firmware updates will fail. This will be addressed in a later system update.

 

Auto download of games that are purchased remotely?

Should clarify, the xbox is connected to my PC monitor and the usb is connected to the PC rather than the xbox i did not no that about it acting wired with the usb tho.

 

Are you using cheap or old batteries? That's the only other thing I can think of. I had the same trouble with some bargain bin batteries, I've also had the same issue with 18 month old Play and Charge batteries. Even though they show as charged on the screen,
the voltage/current could be dipping momentarily, enough to cause a disconnection.

A good pair of Duracell or a new Play and Charge kit may be your answer.

 

I've tried new batteries. Although, if the batteries were old or just bad quality, this might be the problem for the wireless disconnects and in combination with a bad USB cable this might have beed the problem! I'll try a new USB cable and new batteries.
