    Controller lag?

i have an Xbox one and 2 wireless controllers. The last week, there has been a 3-5 second delay between pushing something on the controller and the Xbox/screen making that action when using the dashboard. I have changed, updated the settings on my tv, the
Xbox and updated the controllers via usb. I have changed the batteries, tried using the controller via usb and the lag is still there on the dashboard. I tried assigning the controllers to players and the lag is still there. I have checked and rechecked my
network connections and the lag is still there. I moved the Xbox to another to and the lag is still there. Today the lag is closer to 10 seconds and the second controller completely freezes once you enter a game.

Is there something I have not tried that would fix this? I really don't want to fork out another $120 just to use my xbox.

    :)

    Controller lag?

Please perform a hard reset of your console exactly like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in
and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!!

Yes! This worked and there is no lag at all on the dashboard. The second controller works great in game as well. Thank you!! Is this something to do periodically?

Yes, it don't hurt to do it every couple of weeks just to keep things fresh.

As Delentheus stated it all adds up.The controller lag, processing lag, frame lag and TV lag adds on top of human lag.

    Skyrim: controller lag

Yes i already installed it, it's not the game lag that is a problem, the game runs very smooth and i haven't experienced any lag yet, the problem is the controller lag or input lag, the time difference between using the controller and seeing these actions
on the tv. I am sorry if i mixed up the terms game lag and controller lag, because these are 2 different things. But thanks for the advice! i will post my results by tomorrow, i really hope it is just the controller thumbsticks that are worn out because i
am dealing with this controller lag for a long time. I actually resold a tv after buying because the controller lag was to big, the tv was to slow with processing the image of the xbox. Now i have a fast panasonic plasma tv with a lag of 16 ms ( should be
non-noticable for humans, according to what i have read) so that shouldn't be a issue, though i want to reduce the lag as much as possible. For example i do not prefer the bow as a weapon because i find it very hard to aim because of the controller lag.

Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

Last night I tried connecting my controller directly to the console(with USB). Then I started streaming to my PC using the Xbox App Beta(Version 22.22.28020.00000). I played for about 2hrs, and I didn't see any major lag. There was a little stuttering every
once in a while, but not as bad as before. I then disconnected the controller from the USB(it was still connected to the console wirelessly), and I played for another 2hrs. I still didn't see any major lag; just the occasional stuttering every so often. Then
I proceeded to disconnect the controller completely from the console, and I connected it directly to my PC(with USB). I played for maybe about an hour, and the games seemed to run worse. I didn't see any major lag, but there was a lot more stuttering. I wasn't
able to continue playing to see if the major lag would appear again, but it seemed like it would've if I had played longer. So, it does seem like having the controller connected to the console directly while streaming runs better.

Tonight I was going to try connecting my controller to my PC, and stream until the major lag shows up again. I will then disconnect the controller from the PC, and connect it directly to the console; I will see if the lag persists after doing that. I will
post an update either later tonight or tomorrow morning on what happens.
So, I connected my controller to my PC and streamed for about 2hrs until the lag showed up. Then I disconnected the controller from the PC and connected it wirelessly to the console. The lag did continue, but there was no stuttering. The lag spikes seemed
to happen almost exactly every 5 minutes. The game would lag for about a minute, and then stop for 5 minutes; then it would start lagging again. I then connected the controller to the console through USB, and the lag seemed to go away. Then I connected back
to the PC and I was able to play for about another hour before the lag returned. So, it seems like when you connect the controller directly to the console with USB, then there is no lag. Also, the lag only impacts the games themselves; not the dashboard. When
the games are lagging I would hit the Guide Button, and the dashboard would have no lag whatsoever.

    Xbox Wireless Headset Audio Latency

I do not own the Xbox wireless headset, but I had read review from rting.com that it has 200ms latency. While I do not have an explanation to why the lag, the lag is probably expected.

I also notice there is some lag on controller 3.5 output. If you use monitor speaker and controller headphone at the same time, you will notice the lag, although very minimal.
