    Controller keeps disconnecting


    I bought a new controller the other day, and at first it was working fine but now it disconnects constantly. 5 to 10 times every hour or so. Whenever it disconnects, we get disconnected from xbox live and our other controller disconnects too. I've hard
    reset, and resynced the controller, but nothing helps.

    No One from MS give us a clean feedback and solution！

    we confirmed it is the console firmware issue while MS is doing nothing！

    Hey Thairen,

    Have you tried clearing the persistent storage? You go to settings, disc and blue ray, persistent storage, and clear the persistent storage 3 times.

    Then after that, perform a hard reset on the controller. Take out the batteries from the controller, hold down the power button on the controller for 30 seconds, and put the batteries back in.

    Try these, and lets see if it works. If it doesn't work after that point, sounds like you will just need to set up a repair for your controller. Respond to this thread if you would like that information.

    I tried that so I'll have to test it for the next hour or so. Question though, how does the persistent storage affect the controller?

    Not a clue to be honest. Its just part of the troubleshooting.

    What we can tell you for sure is that it is not a problem in control. It is a problem in the console software! I never had this problem, mine started shortly after the September update (the one from late August). Cranked up the warranty, not yet collected
    my console, but many people swapped the console and got a console with the same problem!

    Exactly what they said above. Make sure the connections are clean and when you have the pack plugged in, make sure there is no visible crack anywhere in the case. It should seal up perfectly with no games or cracks.

    Also if you know anyone with an extra controller you could try it on your console and see if it resolves the problem. You could also take your controller into any store that sells games or consoles and see if they will let you test your controller on their
    console.

    Last. Make sure you don't slam your controller onto your lap if you are ever frustrated. If the controller is slammed down or set down too hard onto a surface, it could start popping the battery pack out of the controller. Over time, that will prevent
    the pack from snapping in properly. Hope this helps.

    If you have followed all the troubleshooting steps to no avail all you can do is send that console for repairs.
