Controller issues

So as of earlier today - both controllers refuse to connect and stay connected to my XBox One. They just constantly flash - then seemingly connect, but don't work, and then start flashing again after a few seconds.

Additionally, when either or both connected by USB they keep stalling.... so you'll be running through a menu or something then all of a sudden for about 10 seconds absolutely nothing works - then they carry on. This happens even with the media remote,
so not just the controllers. It's effectively unusable.

I've tried all the info in the help, batteries are fine, no interference - basically nothing has changed environmentally at all. Restarted the Xbox, no difference. The only thing I've not tried is a complete reset of the XBox, but don't really want to
have to do that.

Since I have issued even when connected via cable I'm inclined to think it;s an XBox fault, but how do I know?!?

Anyone else had this / know what on earth is going on?

Bah. That thing sucks. I think that tripled my amount of all time shotgun kills.

Try doing a hard reset like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once
it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

It sounds like you're not hitting the sync button on the console itself.

With your console powered on, hit the Guide button. Wait for the LEDs to start flashing. Once they're flashing, hit the sync button (near the Play & Charge cable port). The LEDs on the controller will start spinning. After you've hit that, hit the Sync button
on the front of the consoles. On the original 360 it's its own button to the right of the MU ports. On the 360 S it's the IR window/button to the left of the front USB trap door. Once you hit the sync button on the console, the Ring of Light on the console
should start spinning.

Controllers do wear out. Every gamer handles it different and your movements will do that to the joystick. Certain games are harder on different buttons. Thats a battlefield controller

mine looks just like it. Its a battle hardened controller that might
need to be retired. It happens to the best of us.
