    So I would to start off by saying I know it's not anyone of the support team's fault or anything, but I'm really annoyed and fed up with the things I've been dealing

    with from Xbox. I've been a loyal Xbox user since about 2006 and Xbox live user since about 2007-2008. I've dealt with red rings of death, connection issues,

    and other things that shouldn't have been a problem. So my first controller that came with the Xbox One, worked fine. I got to a period where I hadn't been playing

    much of anything and mostly perusing Netflix. Destiny finally comes out and I go to use my controller; the right analog stick had the sticking problem. I look up

    what's wrong with it and apparently it's something that has happened to many Xbox user's controllers for absolutely no reason besides the faulty equipment,where

    some clip gets loose or broken or whatever and there's no fix besides sending it in. Whatever, I dealt with it. I had a second controller for two player games, which

    I barely ever used besides playing two player games. I've been using it and the play and charge kit, which has always, since I bought it, not fit perfectly into the

    controller. Which I assumed was the wire's fault not the controller, but little did I know, it fit perfectly fine in the other controller. So I've been making due with it.

    Today my controller randomly died while playing Destiny. I tried turning it back on and it wouldn't stay on for more the a few seconds. I tried new batteries and the

    same problem. So I put the plug and play in and after a few seconds I thought I saw smoke. Then a burning smell came, and I realized the smoke was coming

    from the controller. That a huge lawsuit waiting to happen, by the way. Besides that I can't even play my Xbox One now until I can buy a new controller. This is

    just not fair. I try to be cool and understanding but how much bs am I going to have to deal with, while I continue to support Microsoft and Xbox? Helping me be

    able to turn on this controller is not in anyway making up for anything or making me change my mind about how I feel, but can anyone at least help me get the one

    controller that won't stay on to work?

    Bah. That thing sucks. I think that tripled my amount of all time shotgun kills.

    It sounds like you're not hitting the sync button on the console itself.



    With your console powered on, hit the Guide button. Wait for the LEDs to start flashing. Once they're flashing, hit the sync button (near the Play & Charge cable port). The LEDs on the controller will start spinning. After you've hit that, hit the Sync button
    on the front of the consoles. On the original 360 it's its own button to the right of the MU ports. On the 360 S it's the IR window/button to the left of the front USB trap door. Once you hit the sync button on the console, the Ring of Light on the console
    should start spinning.

    Controllers do wear out. Every gamer handles it different and your movements will do that to the joystick. Certain games are harder on different buttons. Thats a battlefield controller :) mine looks just like it. Its a battle hardened controller that might
    need to be retired. It happens to the best of us.
