My play & charge kit connection to controller is a joke

In whose wisdom decided that flimsy connection was going to last?

From new, the connection was loose, & I knew there would be issues, Sure enough, I am taking the controller & play/charge kit back for replacement for the second time.

FFS! This is 2014 & designers & engineers still have no idea how to get it right!!!

That's strange, my connections on my controllers feel real right, I've stopped using them all together now though since I got a docking station.

 

Maybe it's the old age tech breaking the new.

How cool would it have been if you could just place your controllers atop the xbox one and they would recharge. Like those cell phone battery pads.

I love my controller it's lighter and slimmer than the wireless controller for my 360 slim console. The only kind of issue with it is how violently it vibrates. I use Energizer rechargeable batteries and have an express Energizer charger (black) which can
charge 2AA/AAA batteries in 15 minutes or 4AA/AAA batteries in 35 minutes. The batteries last a full week before needing a recharge and about 11 hours for my turtle beach x42 headset. I love my setup. The controller for me is durable so far have even dropped
it a few times on the carpet floor.

thank you, and you like it? i read not sure if it was on this or the ps4 version that it was flimsy and easy breakable. I want to get his one im looking at it for both systems. How are the back does the battery fit in like regular battires or does it come
down like the 360 pack

 

The battery goes in like the official plug and play kit then a cover slides down over it, it doesn't seem too flimsy imo, it does the job perfectly, I've put my controller on there every night for the past 3 months and it still works flawlessly, I'm pretty
sure this one only works with xbox one controllers.

 

thanks for the info. what i mean about the 360 part is does the cover purtrude down like the 360. that drives me nuts why i like the one controller only reason why i like it lol.i was looing at itand some other chargers and it appears the covers purturude

That's odd - the play and charge kits that I use that plug into my controller are incredibly tight and actually hard to pull out. I have to give it a pretty good pull just to get it out. Besides, all you need is your typical phone charge cable (mini-USB,
I think). You don't have to use the one standard console cable.

Personally, I hate the docking station because in order to use it, you have to put the controller into it, which means that while the controller is charging, you can't use it. With the play and charge kit (a simple cable), I can plug it in and keep on playing
with the same controller.

 

The cover does protrude ever so slightly but I've never noticed it, here a pic >
http://1drv.ms/1wtjmPI, I totally get that gg that would be a problem if you had one controller, I've got two though so if it did die whilst playing a can quickly grab the other, I've had very long sessions
and not had it die.
