Controller issues

I have the XBOX ONE S Halo edition, and ever since i bought it the controller seemed off. It makes humming noises (like a high voltage power box), and batteries only last maybe 5 hours. I didnt really care about those things, i lived with it. The thing that
does annoy me is the controller randomly disconnecting in the middle of games, and i only really play online so it is quite frustrating. The xbox has nothing in the way (sits openly on a shelf), i sit 2 feet away from it, the closest wireless technology is
in another room (at the other side of the room even), and the only way to get it to reconnect is, A; total shut down of the xbox and reconnect on the green xbox screen, B; pull the controller batteries, hit the controller off of something, then reconnect.
<this method only works if you hit the controller, but it doesn't always work 100% of the time. oh and my controller is fully updated with the xbox. Anything else i can try?

Bah. That thing sucks. I think that tripled my amount of all time shotgun kills.

It sounds like you're not hitting the sync button on the console itself.

With your console powered on, hit the Guide button. Wait for the LEDs to start flashing. Once they're flashing, hit the sync button (near the Play & Charge cable port). The LEDs on the controller will start spinning. After you've hit that, hit the Sync button
on the front of the consoles. On the original 360 it's its own button to the right of the MU ports. On the 360 S it's the IR window/button to the left of the front USB trap door. Once you hit the sync button on the console, the Ring of Light on the console
should start spinning.

Controllers do wear out. Every gamer handles it different and your movements will do that to the joystick. Certain games are harder on different buttons. Thats a battlefield controller

mine looks just like it. Its a battle hardened controller that might
need to be retired. It happens to the best of us.
