CONTROLLER ISSUES - NO HELP FROM MICROSOFT

I have been having problems with my Xbox One controller since mid-July of 2015. The left joystick sticks and forces characters to move forward when playing.

I managed to get a hold of Microsoft customer service, they said they would provide me with all the information needed to send the defected controller in.....waited until mid-August, and still nothing.

Subject: [Mod Removed]- My controller is not working correctly (Xbox ONE) FulFillment

    Hey,

Sorry for the delay, give us a call so we can take a look at your account and see whats going on.

    Hi ,

The date is now October 29, 2015. I have not received ANYTHING from Microsoft regarding my defective controller.

I have had to buy my friend's extra controller, which is also having the same problem.

Is this how you get people to buy the elite controller? PLEASE ADVISE!!

Up until now, nobody has responded back. I essentially purchased 2 controllers within a year of having my Xbox One, and looking to purchase the elite controller. With that in mind, in total, I would have spent $140 on 2 wireless controllers. Are
your controllers breaking on purpose so we'll buy the over expensive $180 CA controller????

    PLEASE RESPOND

    :)

All I can warn you is go through their support asap because once you are past the one year warranty I guess you are no longer valued as a customer by Microsoft. But from what I've seen and heard from other is it doesn't matter, all the consoles are going
to have controller connection issues (their patch didn't help at all) and disk reading issues along with all the other issues Its just a poorly built system. Good luck.

  3. XBox One Controller with PC

Hello. I am having issues getting my PC to use a Microsoft XBox One Controller properly. My PC does not recognize the controller. The Hardware and Devices section only finds an undefined "Controller." I have installed the correct drivers from the microsoft
website. All attempts to automatically detect the appropriate driver fails. The error code I receive for the device is Code 28; the computer does not believe the appropriate drivers are installed. Please help.

    Hello

Your issue is better known as stick drift, it's when the internal component of the joystick gets broken which can have different causes

    • Over extension due too wear on the sticks
    • Pressing the sticks too hard
    • Dropping your controller
    • Worn out components from everyday use
Controllers have a 90 day warranty period so if it breaks within that period you can get it replaced via the
Myservice website, it's a known issue which controllers from various amounts of brands suffer from and there is no solution to it besides getting it repaired or buying a new one.

As I have said in the firs post, I purchased the Xbox One when it came out. It's obvious that the controller will no longer be within the 90-day warranty. It's just really unfortunate that the consumers have the spend extra money on items that could've
been R&D a bit more to ensure loyal xbox customers are buying what they pay for. And it's also the principle that no one on the Xbox team decided to send me another email or call me just to follow up. Is this the service I get after years of being a gold
    member?

Also, I didn't buy the Xbox One because I knew it was good - I bought the Xbox One because I had the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox, was loyal to the brand because they pushed out an incredible product and was worth the buy. Thinking it would've been the
same for the Xbox One proved to be a mistake.

The controller's terrible, and having paid for 2 controllers already (2 regular xbox one wireless controllers within 2 years...I'm a regular gaming logging in less than 3 hours of gaming a day), it's ridiculous to think that I'm actually considering to purchase
the elite. Give me a decent rebate or something.

I contacted them today only to be told I have to purchase a new controller. I am not buying another controller to replace a defective controller that Microsoft clearly knows about. It is not right for customers to have to buy a new controller every six
months because you will not fix the issue with the controller and willingly replace defective controller at no charge. This is *** customer service and if this is not fixed I will not buy another xbox and will buy a playstation.

I had every playstation up until the xbox 360 came out and have been loyal ever since and now I feel like the consumers are getting the short end of the stick because microsoft does not care about its customers only money.

This is also why microsoft lost its deal with Call of Duty who went to playstation.

Customers come first not your money, this is how you keep loyal customers.

Atleast offer a new controller at a discounted price.

I second that. There should be some sort of replacement program: I give Microsoft the defective Xbox one controller back, they offer me the Elite controller at a discounted price.

Now, I had to buy 2 controllers, so, what do you say Microsoft? Further discount?

  8. CONTROLLER ISSUES - NO HELP FROM MICROSOFT

@BOOGSmasterJ - the defective plastic modules on the XBO controller that cause for early wear and tear are the exact same on the Elite controller as they are on the standard controller, they use cheap plastic parts where the Xbox 360 controller used metal
(hence why the Xbox 360 controller was of superior design), the standard Xbox One controller is 50% more than a Xbox 360 controller with only a fraction of the longevity; there's a term for this in business, "planned obsolescence", there's this narrative going
around that the Xbox One Elite controller is more durable and will last longer, false, analog drift will come all the same on this Elite controller as it will on the standard, I'd give you support material like articles and videos and such to illustrate this
but the moderators here don't like that, so Private Message me if you want that stuff

So after contacting microsoft support again, I was able to get a replacement at no charge. I is covered under my systems warranty since it was verified that the controller came with that system. Bad part is I have to send in my controller first before
they will send me a new one and this is the only one I have. Thank you Microsoft for the help.

So what are the conditions to get a replacement controller? I have 3 ($65each) xb1 controllers with the left stick malfunction and one $40 with the LB bumper going out... i put in alot of game time in and its really fustrating having to deal with this...
maybe MS should manufacture their products somewhere where quality is actualy a concern. I just bought a controller today and rather then having to rely on MS I just went ahead and bought the 2 yr placement threw my local retail store ... i know it will break
ina few months so 4 bucks isa lot cheaper in da long run. I wish MS would do us good on this ... very disappointing.

  12. @CrypticBoz - the issue of the failing analog sticks has been of public knowledge for nearly two years and they've not addressed it, in fact the Elite controllers which are being sold on the pitch that they are of superior durability and craftsmanship as
to extend its longevity when on the contrary they are actually of the same shoddy build as the original controllers as they sport the same plastic pieces on the analog module that fail as with the original controllers, this is what causes the analog sticks
to fail and to develop stick drift

    @ xDamnYouSalazar

Yeah well it still sux and they should fix it . Like another poster said.... they should have some sort of trade in program. I love xbox but i hate buying stuff for it and it breaks. I suppose i could learn how 2 sodder and just buy some of parts from China
    and fix it myself.

  14. Hey, guys! I'm very sorry to see any issues with your controllers, however if you are no longer in warranty and contacting support has proved unfruitful, the only other option is to buy a new controller. If you need further assistance once you get your replacement
controller, please post up a new thread detailing what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best on the forums. CONTROLLER ISSUES - NO HELP FROM MICROSOFT :)
