Controller is not responsive when connected wirelessly

Ive been playing Forza Horizon 4 for a little while on my pc. I use an Xbox series x controller with the wireless adaptor and have no issues.

I got a series x on Saturday to play on my big TV, and Ive been playing Forza on it and the controls just are not responsive in the game. Most of the time this is shown where basically where the car just refuses to turn, its not understeer, the wheels literally are not turning and the car goes straight instead or turning like it should.

I tried with Forza 7 and Horizon 3 and they all show the same issue. I plug to controller in with the USB cable and it works fine. Ive tried 2 different controllers so its not the controller and its not lag because it works fine with the wire.

I spoke to "an xbox gamer"??, are they actually support or just forum members? about it and they said send the xbox in for MS to check it and repair it. Well Im ok with that but Im not sure it will fix the issue because I think its software, so I dont want to run the risk of getting a refurb machine back and it have the same problem them new one I send in did. So I would like to see if anyone else is experience the same problems or knows of it? Im really hoping that is just a known issue and its going to be patched out eventually.

tl:dr FH4, F7, FH3 on series doesn't work or respond like it should when connected wirelessly, controller works fine collected via USB.

Is anyone else noticing an issue like this?

    Xbox one update issue

You have no way to connect your controller wirelessly? You can also take a simple USB cable, connect controller to console. The controller is then also wirelessly connected to the console. You can then remove the cable. Hope that helps.

Series X controllers will not connect unless plugged.

    Hello BenEmergy,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It appears that the Xbox controllers can't be connected wirelessly to your Xbox Console. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

    1. With the three Xbox Controllers, are all these controllers are Xbox Wireless controllers or of different type?

    2. Are those controllers not connected wirelessly to Xbox console since the first time it was used to connect to your Xbox Console?

For the meantime, here are the ways to connect your Xbox Controllers wirelessly:

    • Connect the Xbox Controllers wirelessly using Xbox app accessories.
    • Connect the Xbox Controllers using the pair button.
For the complete steps, see the article through this link: Connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your console | Xbox Support

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    Sincerely,

    Problem with controller

I have this same exact problem. The xbox can communicate with the controller (the console will turn the controller on, and the controller will turn the console on wirelessly), but it will not do anything more than that unless plugged in with the micro USB
cable. The controller does bind when I use the connect button on the back and point it at the Kinect, but none of the buttons do anything wirelessly.

If I reset my console while keeping games and apps, will my save progress be deleted?

Hi Kris, thanks for the response.

    Yes, it's connected wirelessly.

Appreciate the help, i'll go ahead and reset.
