    Controller input lag

This is an old issue, but its always worth bringing back up once in a while in hopes that one day it will be addressed.

Since launch, backwards compatibilty has caused roughly 50ms-70ms of controller input delay, depending on the game being played. This has caused some problems playing certain fast paced games like Gears of War and other shooters.

Luckily, Red Dead Redemption benefits from some pretty heavy auto aim by default, but it clearly suffers when in manual aim. This also makes competitve multiplayer near impossible.

Again this is an old issue and I have already filled out a survey again. Just trying to bring this issue up again since its been ongoing since BC launch.

    Thank you.

    :)

    Elite Controller Input Lag

My Xbox one controller has minor input Lag when using complex button maps. I'm currently on my second Elite Controller after replacing the first when it broke under warranty. The other day while playing Halo 5 I accidentally had my Toggle Switch set to the
mapping I use for every other game. Its just the basic A B X Y paddles with the trigger range set from 0-20 to make hair triggers usable. I noticed a significant increase in accuracy and speed of reticle movement. Upon playing a few more games it seems that
when using the H5 settings I flick past my targets, zoom in to late, and switch weapons too slowly. All of these can be attributed to an additional 20-50ms of lag on the controller.

I double checked all of the settings to ensure there wasn't any issue with Analog Stick Settings in either control scheme and both were set to default. I really don't want to switch control schemes but I may have to because the only cause I can think of
is the complexity of the button mapping. My H5 settings are A -> X, B -> Null, X -> Null, Y -> Null, RS Click -> RB, LS Click -> RS Click, RB -> LB, LB -> D-pad Left, TL Paddle -> A, TR Paddle -> B, BL Paddle -> LS Click, and BR Paddle -> Y. I have literally
remapped every button to my own liking for sake of fluidity when playing Halo 5 and switching these would set me back a month to learn a new control scheme.

To Translate that control scheme Triggers = ADS/Fire, Bumpers = Switch/Throw Grenades, Stick Clicks = Crouch/Melee, Top Paddles = Jump/Boost, Bottom Paddles = Sprint/Switch Weapon, A = Reload. All these settings allow me to perform every combat maneuver
in Halo 5 without taking my thumbs off the sticks and allows for a stabilize jump by clenching my entire left hand. All strafing maneuvers are achieved via my index and ring fingers. Grenade Canceling is as simple as flicking my hand forward. The only button
I move my thumb for is reloading which is only done in a non combat situation. Having this setup is incredibly important to me. I don't want to sacrifice the time I put into devising and learning this control scheme to go to waste because Microsoft didn't
stress test their controllers for remapping 80% of the buttons.

If my hypothesis on why the controller is lagging is incorrect please explain why. Anyone willing to test my theory and experiment with different control schemes to see if its solely related to certain button maps that would be much appreciated. However
its not my job to do so. It's Microsoft's. If I am correct this is a serious issue and should be addressed accordingly because the Elite Controller fails to achieve its model of customizability, quality, and precision as intended. If anyone has a possible
    solution please share it..

    Elite Controller Input Lag

This is interesting. Do u happen to know if while playing wired, the elite controler has the same input lag as a normal wired controller? Or does it continue being a wireless operation, but is charging?

Ok i tried the wireless controller

THAT DIDNT WORK EITHER [Mod removed profanity] IS WRONG WITH THIS DELAY THIS IS SO ANNOYING YOY HAVE NO IDEA HOW FRUSTRATED I AM BC ALL THIS MONEY WENT TO WASTE

    UNBELIEVABLE

    WHATS WRONG?!?!
    Hey,

I must have missed your post that it only occurs online. This is 100% network related. So it is not your controller, TV, or console. Did you try a direct wired connect to your modem- bypassing the router basically. Once this is connected you can try playing
online and if the problem persists, while leaving the console directly connected to the modem run the network trouble shooter as described by the Microsoft guys in this chat.

Online gaming is frustrating because their are so many things that can go wrong and each portion is a different company to deal with.

    Good luck.

    Hello

It might be a TV setting have you had a look within your TV settings to Ensure that Game Mode is enabled.

I have a Panasonic TV was all set up in Game Mode but after an Update it reset all of the display settings and disabled Game Mode.

    Controller Input Lag

    Hey there Johnny!

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with your console.

I would say that if your console is still being weird after doing a soft reset, then the next step and last resort would be a full factory reset that removes everything. I know it could take a while to install your games, but it's a valid troubleshooting
    steps for things this severe.

If that does not work, then you would have to either get the console replaced or serviced. If you wanna get your console repaired, then you can get it done by either going to

    device support
    or by contacting customer support
    directly.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks for reading!
