    Controller headset audio problem

Can anyone suggest a fix for us. We have an xbox one and a wireless controller with a headset attached with the 3.5mm jack. Sound through the headset has stopped working. Was fine, stopped using it for an hour then came back and no sound. Still getting sound
through the TV speaker. Have tried different headsets and HDMI cables etc, still no luck. Have also tried all settings I can think of but still not working.

Is this likely to be a faulty controller (only have one at the moment so cant check with another) or is this a common issue that is fixable with system settings etc?

    Any ideas appreciated....

    Thanks

    :)

    Xbox microphone not detected

Does the consoles audio come through the headset or is it just the mic that is having problems?

Does the the headset hav an inline volume control and/or mic mute button/switch?

How to fix Xbox wired stereo headsets that no sound through them?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    good morning

There could be several reasons why your Xbox wired stereo headset is not producing sound when connected to your Xbox.

Make sure the headset is properly plugged in: First, check to make sure the headset is properly plugged into the controller. The headset jack is located on the bottom of the controller, and the plug on the headset should be fully inserted.

Check the audio settings: Go to the Xbox settings menu and navigate to the "Audio" tab. Make sure that the "Headset" option is selected as the audio output device.

Check the controller firmware: It's possible that the controller firmware may need to be updated. To do this, go to the Xbox settings menu and navigate to the "Devices & connections" tab. Select "Controller" and then choose "Update firmware".

Try a different controller: If you have another controller available, try using it with the headset to see if the problem persists. This will help determine whether the issue is with the controller or the headset.

Check the headset for any damage: If the headset appears to be damaged or has any visible defects, it may be the cause of the problem. In this case, you may need to replace the headset.

Cannot hear when headset or any earbuds are plugged into controller

Because you are having problems with both the headset and earbuds, it could be your controller. However, check the audio mixer settings on the Xbox. With the headset plugged into your controller, from the home menu go to the system tab. You should see
a selection for audio. Open the audio controls and check to make sure the mixer is not set for chat only, eliminating game sounds. Adjust the settings and see if you start hearing sounds.

    Xbox 360 series controller

For xbox one controllers and xbox series controllers

by bluetooth if your pc has this (does not support audio passthrough so no headest support via controller).

by wire (this supports audio passthough for headsets via controller)

by purchasing the xbox wireless adapter for pc (this supports audio passthough for headsets via controller)

    Razer nari connection

The only way to connect the headset to the Xbox One, is with the audio cable that is supplied with it. Connect the cable to the headset then the controller 3.5 mm jack socket. If your controller does not have the jack socket, then you will need the Microsoft
headset audio adapter, which you connect to the controller, then connect the headset to the adapter.
