  1. Controller has to be re-paired with console after every time it is plugged into a PC?

It is a great feature that the standard / authentic Xbox One controllers can also be used on a PC (via a USB connection). However, it seems like I have to re-pair (wirelessly re-connect) the Xbox One controller to the console, after every time that I plug
that same controller into a Windows computer. Have other people seen the same thing, or am I doing something wrong? Is there any chance that a future update (to the controller or console) will solve this problem? Thank you!

    :)

Xbox One S controller wireless doesn't save pairing and no vibration in wireless mode for Windows 10

My Xbox One S no longer keeps the device paired with my bluetooth after updating with the Xbox Accessories app, every time I want to connect it to my bluetooth I have to remove the device and re-pair the controller which can take up to 5 minutes every time.
Not biggest issue but one that shouldn't happen as it was working perfectly before I updated. Also the vibration function doesn't seem to work when the controller is wireless, is Microsoft aware of this? And are they working on making new drivers for the S
    Controller to fix these issues?

Xbox one Controller disconnecting or freezes up

All the time with the wireless disconnects... all the time since I started using it again. I've literally turned off every single wireless device within 20 feet of the xbox INCLUDING my wireless router but the disconnects still persist (I'm sitting like
10 feet away from the console). Fresh batteries, re-paired controller, updated controller, even factory reset the console didn't help.

Maybe it's just angry with me since I basically ignored it for a year after getting the day one edition Controller has to be re-paired with console after every time it is plugged into a PC? :D. I don't recall having this issue back when I first got it and played thru Ryse and Forza... I do have the extended warranty though... Is this something
that can be fixed with a repair?

  4. Controller has to be re-paired with console after every time it is plugged into a PC?

When you plug in a controller via USB, it becomes paired to that device (even if it's a PC). No way around this that I know of... you could always keep a USB plugged in to the Xbox One for quick re-pairing.

Xbox One controller on Win 10 Forgets the Xbox Adapter for Windows

For pairing problems, as I mentioned above one quick and easy way to get the device paired is to plug in an adapter, then plug in your controller through a wired USB. The driver stack will automatically pair it to the plugged in adapter so that when you
unplug the wired controller, it will bind to the adapter. This is exactly how it is on the Xbox console.

Regarding not syncing after say a reboot, please bear in mind though that the controller can only "remember" one adapter at a time, which means plugging in to a console or binding/pairing to a console or to another PC adapter, will erase the controller's
memory of the adapter it was originally bound to.

Usually if the controller has not been repaired, an unplug/replug of the adapter is enough to reset it.

Xbox One Controller forgetting bluetooth pairing after being plugged in.

the controller will always remain paired to the console without issue.
    Hi,

There is a very good reason for this. On the console, the controller doesn't use Bluetooth, it uses its own proprietary wireless connection. The original Xbox One controllers didn't have Bluetooth on release and could only be connected via a micro USB cable,
the newer controllers have the BT feature, but still work with the original Xbox One (think Xbox One Fat 2013).

It can't re-pair automatically because it has two types of wireless sync technologies built in. The only way I believe you can make the controller sync automatically would be via the Xbox One Gaming receiver for Windows 10. The receiver doesn't use Bluetooth.

    I hope that makes sense.

That's interesting information, but it's still an issue.

When I plug my phone into my PC, it doesn't forget the bluetooth pairing. Plugged in or not I can use the phone companion app just fine, and I don't have to re-pair it when I unplug it.

When I pair a soundbar to my PC, it works just as well as when I unplug it and use it through bluetooth, and again no re-pairing needed.

When I plug in my Sennheiser wireless headphones to charge it, it's still paired to my PC through bluetooth when I unplug it.

For some unknown reason when you plug in an Xbox One controller, it or Windows 10 (or both) deletes or resets the bluetooth profile associated with it, which requires Windows 10 to pair with it again. It's the only device I know of that loses bluetooth pairing
because you plugged it in. Having two different radio technologies is not an excuse. It would make sense if I was connecting the controller to the PC through bluetooth and then plugging it into an Xbox, but that isn't the case. I don't even have an Xbox anymore.

The controller/Windows 10 has no real reason for clearing/resetting the bluetooth profile when plugging the controller in.

    Hi,

Pretty much all other devices that you can pair with Bluetooth only have BT, not a separate wireless tech built in.

However note that on an Xbox One console, if you plug a controller into the machine via USB and then unplug it, the controller will automatically be synced to the console. I only occasionally use my console now, but when I last plugged the same controller
I use on PC to the console it auto synced.

My guess is it will do this if you have the Xbox One Gaming Receiver on PC. It loses BT pairing because when you plug it in to USB it is automatically looking for this wireless sync that does not exist on a PC without said receiver.

The only way to remove the pairing issue almost entirely would be to use an external charger and more batteries. When the battery runs out just swap out with no re-syncing required. Or buy the Gaming Receiver.

The Xbox One Wireless Gaming Receiver actually has more functionality than via BT.

XBox Controller won't connect with Bluetooth after connecting with USB

I have the same issue on every PC I've tried.

Once connected once via USB, the controller will not connect via bluetooth ever again.

The only way is to to remove the device and re-pair the controller over bluetooth
    EVERY time.

This issue is only with the Xbox controller, PS4 and others I've tried can re connect fine.
