  1. Controller drifting after firmware update - Series S

My controller L has been drifting up on main logon screen since the new auto firmware update. Unable to navigate beyond 1 block.

Drifting doesn't happen while in game. Sometimes left trigger seems to be unresponsive however it is very sporadic.

    Please help....how can I troubleshoot?

    :)

My brand new controllers are drifting and I have no idea what's happening.

I'm going to roll with any new ones will drift unfortunately. Even the newest number 2 series 2 elite replacement i got day before warranty went out it drifted day 1 and nothing was done if the work order other than me paying. My daughters brand new blue colored controller drifted day 1 out of box. Firmware update helped then 2nd update said sike you thought and back to drift.

    controller drift

If I understand this correctly, both controllers are drifting? If so, the firmware might need to be updated and/or the controllers need to be reconnected to the console.

    Hi

Given it started after a firmware update, then it's likely the update caused it...sometimes updates have unintended consequences and it's possible that it has disrupted the ability to use the new Series X/S controllers on older XBox One systems. If that's the case, they will hopefully fix it with another update, though it may be a while
