Controller drift

To who ever see's this,

I've been a happy Xbox one owner for almost a year now. I've had no real issues, the occasional glitch when I select a game I have to try and open it multiple times ( select the icon and it shows the screen of the game, then closes about 3-4 times before
working). But lately for I would say the last week or so, my controllers left analog stick drifts up. At first it was subtle and just a few times it would happen . But now it's consistently doing it. I've looked to see if there were updates for the controllers.
I take excellent care of my electronics and gaming systems and hardware. And I'm not going to go and buy a new one for a system I've had less than a year, that is ridiculous. I wont be forced to buy a new controller because the one Microsoft sends
with their system is faulty. I've heard of multiple people with this problem as well. I would like to know my best options and solutions if any for this problem, or if I'm able to return it to Xbox/Microsoft for their faulty hardware.

i have the same issue. my weapon points up and its a hassle to target when I am fighting the drift upward

I can barley play anything because it keeps drifting upwards im a big destiny player is there a fix to this my character keeps moving on its own without me touching my controller Please help.

Sorry you're having issues with your controller. The issues that you're describing does sound like faulty hardware unfortunately. As such per the accessory warranty if you've had it over 90 days, the only option would be to purchase a new controller. Totally
understand how frustrating that can be. If you've had it less than 90 days please go to this link and request a repair on the controller. Below is the link to the Xbox Warranty.

Ok this is absolutely unacceptable! I have had to purchased 2 controllers because of this issue and now I'm about to buy a THIRD!! I'm seriously about to switch to PS4. I've been a loyal xbox user since it first started and this is not how you treat your
coustumers. Some people are not in a position to buy whole new controller for $60. I can't even play Batman Arkham Knight because of this, my favorite game. Something else must be done for the players who are having this issue after having the controller
for less than a year!

 

I am also having the same horrible drifting issue with left stick. Searching through all online forums and gaming communities, I can see that this is a wide spread issue.

We need someone from Microsoft to clearly state to us if this issue has been fixed with new controllers being manufactured and which controllers are problem free? (i.e. manufacturing start date of error free controllers)

Does the covert op controller which comes with 3.5mm jack built in has the issues fixed?

Reason behind asking this is we are not sure if buying a new controller will fix the issue, since warranty is limited to only 90 days.

 

While its not perfect.. I've had this issue as well, and found if i hold the stick slightly down when i power it up, it seems to rest the axis enough to make the controller work. Takes some trial and error to find the sweet spot depending on how much it
drifts, but better than shelling out 60 bucks

 

I have the same issue, buying my xbox one on last november, and I'm not going to buy a new controller for 50 € six months after. If the solution is to buy a new one, I'll buy a PS4 instead.

 

I'm suffering from the same problem, gaming is frustrating and netflix home screen spins round like a fruit machine....

This is a wide spread issue (see this thread:
forums.xbox.com/.../1846667.aspx) I tried going through myservice but that says I need to pay for a new one and I don't want to have to keep forking out £40+ every 6 months so MS should really own up to releasing a substandard product and repair/replace
them free of charge.

If you have this exact issue with your controller, please submit a repair request using this link above if you've had this less than 90 days. If it's over 90 days, I would suggest purchasing a replacement controller.

So my controller has just started to do the same. Rendering it useless, and therefore rendering my Xbox one useless for gaming unless I pay out for a replacement. Microsoft representatives, put yourself in the position of your customers for a moment. If
you're honest - you would NOT be happy with the frankly dismissive attitude you're taking to this widespread problem. Take a look around the internet on the subject...this isn't a few isolated cases.

I've noted that one of the threads here has reached 70 pages worth of complaints - before it got locked down. In your position of putting yourself in the shoes of your customer, how would that make you feel?

If you're being true to yourself, you'd not find it acceptable, and probably be as upset as we are that the cost of ownership of an Xbox One seems to have increased by about £40 a year (or worse) due to substandard hardware. After the whole Red Ring of
Death issue (That I suffered twice) I would have thought that Microsoft may have learnt something - at least then, there was a concerted (and embarrassed) effort to fix those affected consoles.

Perhaps it is I that should have learnt from that lesson.

You got respect for that. You will not get respect for trying to sweep this under the carpet. The problem is not going to go away, and telling us to go 'purchase a replacement' is insulting. As this is obviously a design issue- a replacement is likely
to suffer the same issue (as evidenced).

Frankly - we all feel that Microsoft will shrug, consider this a drop in the ocean - and do nothing about this.

I have the same issue, I bought a controller in december, its my back up mind you and has been used maybe a total of 20 hours and has this drift issue. I called today because I figured it would be under warranty but I found out that they only give you 90
days when you buy a $60 operate controller.....thats 60 dollars! It is beyond unacceptable that they are not honoring a replacement on an issue that is obviously prevalent. The rep actually had the nerve to ask me if i wanted to buy another controller through
them, lmao. I have a bunch of oem xbox accessories but I will not support them further.

The other thread was locked, which is absolutely ridiculous. the only reason it was locked was so that it wouldn't be on the first page and out there for all who comes on this here forum. here's the link forums.xbox.com/.../1846667.aspx for those that haven't
seen it. I am so annoyed, and their treatment of the situation shows how much they care about us....says a lot about them!

understand if I had broken my controller or just used it a lot but i am an adult with a job a girlfriend and a life who doesn't even game all that much. tbh, I use my x1 to watch hbo/starz/netflix/amazon prime/encore ect. So annoyed by this!
