Controller Drift.. Any solutions at all?

So recently i had realized my xbox was a day one edition, it never read most discs properly so i had it replaced and when i got it returned, of course this first thing i would do is connect my controller and play a game (in my case, COD: AW). but only half
an hour after playing my controller started to play up. it gradually got worse and worse until i had to stop and clean it (so i took it apart, with all the right tools and cleaned it with my air compressor). i thought what ever dust/dirt would have been in
there would have been cleared out and to my surprise it had no effect what so ever.

So here i am tired of reading post of other people complaining about their problem (with no proper answers other than "get it replaced"), with my controller opened up in front of me (hooked up to the computer with x and y rotation monitors, aka the right analog
stick, so i can try and find what causes the problem), hoping i can actually get a response from any of Microsoft staff to tell me how i can fix this problem, the warranty has already ran out so i can not get it replaced, but instead of wasting another $60-$70
for another controller that will most likely stuff up again, i would like a solution to whatever has happened. thx.

Controller Drift Ultimate Solution

It seems controller drfiting is an issue. I fixed mine pretty good. Get to the modules and get some gun / rod and reel oil, the blue looking oil. I put 4 drops one on each side of the stick, get some oil in the module and you will notice the stick moves
further with the cover off, then make semi circles no matter what even if it feels like it's grinding plastic, then full circles. Do that for a while. Work it in and get oil all in it cleaning it and lubricating it. Don't use mineral oil or Remington Teflon
oil it will evaporate and don't use motor oil. Your controller will no longer drift.

 

Controller - Left Stick Unresponsive

There really is no fix for the stick drift that you are describing. The fastest and best solution is to replace the faulty controller.

 

I would also like to add that the X rotation is slightly to the right (only a smidge) and the Y rotation is 20% - 80% of the movement potential on the stick. It also only ever happens when the stick is centered.

 

replace it or keep using it until the drift is offset by normal usage.

ie: I had a drift after playing weeks of BF4 because the click the run was the ***.

I stopped playing it for months and now I do not have any drift as a result of playing other games that seemingly have offset this.

Some of it has to do with the game itself and the sensitivity....the rest is our course a result of a design flaw in the sensors.
