Controller drift after update

I got a new series s about two months ago and am already getting terrible drift on the right stick, and it didn't start until today when the controller update came out. Now I didn't download it at first and was getting the drift, my friend told me about the new update so I just downloaded it, and it's still unusable and didn't help, I doubt a controller could go bad so fast so I'm assuming whatever that update was broke my controller, is it happening to anyone else? And if it is on there end will it be fixed soon?

First, welcome to the Xbox community. I'm sorry you're having this problem.

I would recommend you initiate a repair order for your control, as it is still under warranty, as the term is 3 months and you already have control for 2 months. I believe an update would do the trick if it really is a software issue, but normally drifting is a hardware issue, so I recommend you do the fix because we don't know when the next controller update will release either. Take advantage of the warranty time you still have.

that happened to me on my day one controller when titanfall was released. it seemed to start drifting right after the controller update. Microsoft replaced it for me but it took like 6 weeks.

I am having the exact same issue with both my COD Advanced Warfare controller and the second controller I purchased at the same time...both got horribly bad with drift after the update

It's not a glitch. Controller Drift happens to controllers after some time.

They don't last forever.

my right stick been drifting up and also my A button not working at times probably a few days after destiny release its been driving me crazy i updated it and once it finished same thing.

Well I just tried updating it again and it said it needs no update so I select update another then select the same controller again and it said the same thing then BAM NO MORE DRIFT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a button works 100% im so happy
try it out just plug it up your controller and update it again to the latest one then select update another and do it again and see if it works for you.
